Gorilla Universal Guitar Effect Pedal Board Organizer Mount Stand Holder Base

5.0 out of 5 stars Great pedal board, low price, 12 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A great pedalboard. Amazing price, wish I'd seen this prior to splashing out on more expensive board. Sturdy all meta construction. Loads of Velcro strapping for pedals.

3.0 out of 5 stars Husker Don't, 8 Aug. 2011
There's no denying the mans legacy or talent but during the reading of the sections that deal with Husker Du and Sugar you would think he was solely responsible for both bands combined output. I found the sections on Husker and Sugar too brief and would have enjoyed more insight into the respective periods.

Throughout there are several references to bands such as Nirvana and the Pixies 'carrying on my lineage' - so he's kind of taking credit now for the whole post punk development of music. I find this a bit over the top, forgetting the influence of other bands of the period such as Mission of Burma, Dinosaur Jr, Minutemen, fugazi, Balck Flag etc etc. Bob you were a part of it mate, not the shining example.

In terms of Bob coming out - interesting, on the part about developing his gay identity and sexual conquests - irrelevant as a heterosexual punker telling us about his sexual adventures - booooorrriiinnng.

I have a lot of respect for Bob Mould via the huskers, Sugar and his solo output, but this book does nothing to add to it and sadly may well have eroded that respect due to his tendency to take credit or walk away when situations didn't suit him.

However it is an essential read for fans of Mould, but I feel Azerrad could have done a better job alone.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pity about the quality, 23 July 2011
I agree with Red on Black - cover photo definately before Green era. I returned this CD because the sound quality is poor and sounds like a bootleg - no mixing or balance, such a shame as the performance captured is awesome.

I wouldn't bother with this unless you are a completist - if so, there are better recordings available.

Treat with caution.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Reference For Weightlifting, 26 July 2007
This book is an excellent resource for planning and executing weightlifting exercise. I have found this book valuable in informing my practice as a physiotherapist and in developing my own personal workouts. Each section is well presented with diagrams indicating muscles worked as well as the benefits of each exercise.

My only critiscisms are that perhaps a section on establishing the correct amount of weight to lift would have been handy as well as pointing out that if you do injure yourself training seek professional help before attempting to treat yourself.

3.0 out of 5 stars Complicated Unecessarily so, 25 Oct. 2005
I must be the only one that found this book hard work! The text relating to movement and joint mechanics I found hard to follow. Granted the sections on muscles and palpation are helpful but this info can be found elsewhere in more forgiving textbooks. This text is a mainstay on most physio degree courses but I found that I was more at home with Tortura and Muscles Testing and Function.

5.0 out of 5 stars Something Real (for a change), 18 Feb. 2004
This review is from: La Muert E Viva! (Audio CD)
In days when we are surrounded in punk-pop nonsense like Good Charlotte, Offspring etc, The Bronx are a welcome relief for those of use who value intensity and integrity in our music. The Bronx smash into your senses and don't let up until the cd finishes leaving you breathless, this band are going to be huge within the punk listening population. OK they are no Fugazi or Hot Water Music but the lyrics are intelligent and have something to say - for a change. Hopefully the bronx will inspire others to follow the hard route to respect than the easy route to money, money, money.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Textbook, 24 Oct. 2003
This textbook is a must for all physio students studying their respiratory modules. It is written in a very clear and concise manner with a lot of unnecessary detail rightly excluded.
Throughout the authors make regular reference to key physio points, also listing secondary factors to consider in your practice.
All aspects are covered in a very unintimidating fashion which actually makes the text interesting to read instead of a chore.
I cannot recommend this text enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet As, 6 Jun. 2003
This review is from: Besides (Audio CD)
For Sugar fans this is a must, the early b-sides are spectacular, David Barbe gets to sing a few as well. This collection illustrates the progress of Sugar as a band, from the early promise of singles from "Copper Blue", to the monolithic and disturbing "Beaster" to the lighter, throwaway pop of "F.U.E.L". Some excellent tunes abound, highluy recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Punk Rock from the Windy City, 6 Jun. 2003

With all the bubblegum and weak bands being bandied about as punk these days, yes we mean you Sum41, Good Charlotte, Blink etc, etc. It's cool to see a band come by with good tunes covering the darker side of life. Although not as totally engaging as From Here to Infirmary, this albums has more hooks than a fishing tackle shop, We've Had Enough is mental blowing away that we punk fans have had to put up with. Buy this album, and if you don't own From Here To then buy that as well, you won't be disappointed!!
