1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid!, 18 Mar. 2014

I had pencil typed GHDs for years and when they packed in I bought these cheap Wahl ones as a replacement. Not a good idea! I have short hair to the sides with it longer on top and so pencil straightners are ideal for that to avoid burning my forehead. On these Wahl straightners, there is a stupid pointless black plastic gripping device just below the ceramic plates which kept pulling on my hair as I tried to straighten it and kept pulling my hair out! There is actually no use for that grip so I have no idea why it's there. I've sent these back for a refund and will be investing in some new GHDs!

5.0 out of 5 stars Get it., 26 May 2005
I got a nice HP Deskjet 3845 printer and put in this cartridge. One month later, at moderate usage, it's still half full. That's good stuff seen as though it's a cheap little ink cartridge. I haven't needed to use my second cartridge yet, but it's good. The black HP 27 one is equally good.
Get an HP printer. Get an HP cartridge.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good (for a while)..., 9 April 2005
I bought this printer a few months ago and when I got it, I couldn't use it. Why? Because it didn't say it needed a USB cable to be bought seperately. After getting the Belkin USB from Amazon (great price) I finally used it. It printed well, not the best quality, but it got the job done. It came with a colour cartridge, but I needed a black one so I bought one too. It didn't work though. So I contacted Lexmark online support and they replied to me about three times, but the cartridge still didn't work. Then, they just didn't bother to reply to my emails- so their support isn't the best, but was good until they stopped replying.
Soon after that, the printer started being stupid and not printing very well. I didn't bother buying another cartridge, but instead decided to buy the Epson C46 printer which is a bit more money than this one.
It's a good printer if it isn't used for heavy printing, but I wouldn't recommed it for its support. Get an HP or an Epson.

4.0 out of 5 stars THE wireless router, 11 Mar. 2005
Having registered for Wanadoo broadband (which, by the way, is very good) and realising my notebook computer had a wireless thing built in, I decided to go wireless.
I bought the Modem Router from the high street, realising afterward it was £20 cheaper on Amazon, and it was setup in one night. I connected the router to the computer to set it up, and then I could go online wirelessly. It was easy to setup, and the best part is that the Router doesn't even need to be connected wiredly to a computer- it can be left on its own.
Couple of problems with it being sometimes it doesn't connect to the internet- solution: resetting the modem and it works again.
I had to contact Belkin Customer Support at one point, and got a very quick response to all my queries. Their customer service is very good and makes the buyer feel safe about what they're buying in the knowledge that there's help if needed.
Overall, the router's good, it don't require any long cables or seperate modem, and it works well - even though there is the odd malfunction. But nothing's perfect, eh?
Oh, and you get a free 5m Ethernet Male adapter in case you need to connect one computer wiredly.

Think about it: without a series 1 there would possibly be nothing at all. And so it's almost vital to own the first series of anything if you are planning to collect the entire thing.
Series one is the funniest, most classical, and most interesting series of the Friends saga. So i would say get it and keep it. Absolutely brilliant.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a USB Cable, 2 Oct. 2004
How can you really review a USB cable?
This cable is shiny and gold. It's apparently "durable for ages" and it works with my printer.
(which is a Lexmark effort.)
So... er, it's good.
The end.
Oh, and it's cheap. Which is always good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review of 'Songs About Jane', 2 Oct. 2004
This review is from: Songs About Jane (Audio CD)
The first album from American group Maroon 5 has made a massive hit with the general public. After its release over two months ago now, it's still hanging in the Top 10 album chart.
But the question is; why is it so popular? Well this review is certainly overloaded with positive reasons.
The album:
Consists of 12 tracks, of which 9 are brilliantly catchy, and the other 3 are reasonably dull. The album has all their currently released tracks pressed onto it, and even holds some future tracks aswell.
Is it good?
It's brilliant. Let's get down to the main point; why it's brilliant. Never before has one debut album held so wide a selection of genres in music and portrayed them with the beauty that controls them. From the rocking beats of 'Harder To Breathe' to the bluesy and upbeat 'Sunday Morning' to the romantic attempted tear-jerker that is 'She Will Be Loved,' each has it's own unique and individual thoughts that worked their way into the lyrics. You can only say that one album consisting of many genres is brilliant. Especially when each of them is brilliant.
Is it bad?
Well, if we consider that they wrote every single and placed it on the album in chronological order, then we can see that they got bored on the last three singles. The first 9 are the ones that keep you interested, and the ones that are so packed with interestingly sufficient lyrics, upbeat tunes, and finger-clicking entertainment. But then at the last three there is some yawning involved. These last singles are the ones that feel boring, over-packed with dull and nervous music, and fail to keep the reputation of "brilliance" that the first 9 singles give the album.
General information:
The debut album from American band Maroon 5, featuring three of their currently released hit singles. It has twelve singles and runs for 46 minutes and 56 seconds (46:56.)
A compilation of high quality, carefully created singles which keep you interested not just for the first weeks, but for the life of the album. Never before has any one album brought together a majority of the genres of music, and kept them up to the standards that make a great, popular album like this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Grr... Very Grrrrrr Baby!, 4 Sept. 2004
In A Nutshell:
Dr Evil travels back in time and steels Austin Powers' "mojo." This leads to a series of events which lead Powers to travel also back in time and try and regain his "mojo" before time runs out. Meanwhile, Dr. Evil is planning to destroy a city every hour of every day from a giant "laser" on the moon, unless he is paid something like a million billion dollars by the US government.
What's Right With It?
The witty and entertaining quotes of Powers never fail to make you laugh, no matter how many times you watch it. The hilarious prose in the movie, with the exceedinly action-loadsmorecomedy atmosphere and storyline make Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me one of the best comedy films of modern day cinema.
What's Wrong With It?
Some of the more, let's say, vulgar scenes (e.g. Fat Bast*rds backside, or Austin Powers drinking Fat Bast*rds faesces) make you press the fast forward button a bit, leading to missing quotes. If you can handle this kind of comedy then you certainly shouldn't find much more wrong with it. However, some of the comedy moments certainly could be expanded to give the film its complete full potential.
No matter about the negatives, it's always the positives that count. It's still brilliant. Myers will never fail to be his best Powers, and nobody can beat that can they? It's funny, it's got a decent storyline, and it's got a groooovy English agent (of course, being Austin Powers) in it aswell! How much better can it get!?

2.0 out of 5 stars Very breakable..., 28 Aug. 2004
There is always somewhere to start in a film, there is always somewhere to end aswell. But as with normal films, there is a story. This film, however, failed to send out an easily recognised story with it. It also had one of the dullest beginnings and endings of any modern film. We have to give it to Shyamalan for his efforts though. As he has only done 4 films (to my knowledge) so far, he did OK. Yes. But no... he didn't really do that well at all. It has the most grey atmosphere, it makes you want to take some sleeping pills, it makes your spine tingle, it makes Bruce Willis look like a 70 year old, it makes music in a film somewhat a necessity, when it isn't needed. In fact, I'm betting that there isn't a minute in the film that doesn't have music in it.
But all in all, Unbreakable was good enough for my viewing pleasure on a Monday night. Yes... because it helped me become tired. If Willis is your kind of movie fave, then get it. If you just want a good movie, though, then don't. This certainly was not as good as Signs or The Sixth Sense. Well done to Shyamalan for trying, though.

I don't know if you caught this on Channel 4 a couple of months back, but it was the third time i watched it. I could have been watching something else, but NO!!! i had to watch it.
It is brilliantly funny, with Uncle Vito and of course, the poshest Englishman ever, Mr. Hugh Grant (who got caught in the wrong place at the wrong time a couple of years back, remember. You see, not all English people are goodie-goodies) and of course, Mr James Caan, who played the great Paul Sheldon in 'Misery (1990)'.
So, why should you see it? Because you just should! It's funny and it's actually got a storyline, unlike many new-day movies. I got this a few weeks back on DVD, and there arent many decent extras, but the movie is still great and funny.
It got rave reviews and is a brilliant view of English and American actors acting in a great film.
Buy it, watch it and watch it again! 10/10
