5.0 out of 5 stars The best 3D Surround simulation i ever listened to coming from an unexpensive product., 16 Mar. 2015
Just bought this to replace the usal crappy sound LG Smart TV gives out and i'm really surprised by this product. I wasn't expecting much from the price and so when it performed better than i expected i was very pleased. First of all, unfortunelly no bass...ok, it has a little bit depending on the sound mode you choose, but it's not the sound bass everyone would love to have attached to a product like this. Strangely even though a good powerfull bass sound was always very important for me, this time i have to say that i don't really miss it that much.
I bought this to replace my old big surround sony amplifier system and i have to say that i'm really happy with the purchase. No more cables spread around attached to speakers and just this little thing in front of the tv.
The bluetooth connection is excellent and i've attached pretty much everything i had here to this bar now and everything works perfect with the easiest connection setup i came across. Connecting an Ipad is simple and it plays any stream i send in perfectly.

So overall i cannot fault this product at all. I believe that if you have a big room to fill with sound, this is not a good buy at all, particulary if you really need some shattering windows powerfull bass attached. If you do, this sound bar is not for you.

BUT... if you have a cozy small space with a big Smart TV (LG is mine), i will recommend this for sure. In my medium/small space with just the tv and a couch in front of it this sound bar delivers an amazing audio experience. Much better than i was expecting from the price for sure.

Some people complained that they don't see much difference between the sound modes. Well I DO. Perhaps it's the size of their rooms or something but in my small space all the sound modes feel totally different and each one is perfect. I've tried a bunch of games, DTS movies and music DVDs and depending on the title i choose there's always a sound that fits best somewhere.
Once again the only thing missing here sometimes is better (noticable) bass. If you can live with "this flaw" buy this product without fear.

But what made me give five stars to this review now, was the 3D Surround simulation sound option. I've read in other reviews people complaining it's not good enough but once again i have to say that that bad experience might be connected to playing this sound bar in bigger rooms than mine.
In my small home cinema space the 3D Surround sound from this bar totally surprised me !! In fact i think it even performs better than my traditional surround sound system if that is possible. I've tried some other low price products before that claimed to have 3D Surround sound simulation and nothing came close to the experience this sound bar provided me now.

I found myself looking behind my back to check if someone had put some hidden back speakers all the time because i could not believe that 3D spatial illusion was only coming from the sound bar in front of me. It really felt like an excellent magic trick and i have no idea how this cheap sound bar achieves an effect like this. In some movies the sound illusion i got, was as if i had two side speakers on the front, a center speaker, another above my head (?), two more speakers on the side and two more on the back !! What ?!! This not happens all the time and depends a lot on the movie you play, (some blurays are particulary amazing) and even streamed movies most of the times achieve really good 3D spatial simulation.

So i am really impressed with this soundbar and i'm going to recommend it to everyone that has a small space to fill with 3D Surround sound and hates wires spread all over the place. This sound bar is an incredible option to get rid of all these. Particulary for the price.

PROS:
- Not expensive
- Easy setup
- Excellent and simple bluetooth connection
- Really good crisp sound overall no matter what sound mode you choose.
- All sound modes feel different ( perhaps it works best in small rooms and depends on the sound quality of the original movie, game, or music you play ).
- The 3D SURROUND Simulation, is really AMAZING and the best option available in this sound bar for sure. I would buy this just for this mode, (once again, this good effect might depend A LOT on the SIZE OF YOUR ROOM (and how cluttered it is).

CON:
- The lack of good bass is a real shame. There's some bass sometimes but it won't impress anyone at all.

If you have a big room to fill this is not for you. If you need boosting bass sound this is not for you.
If you have a small home cinema room, not much money to spend and can live without serious bass, this sound bar in my opinion is a fantastic purchase and i would buy this today, just for the 3D Surround sound simulation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just buy it. You know you want it., 16 Jan. 2015

Altough i still think this is the weaker chapter (the goblin caves scenes and videogame chases bore me to death), this edition is amazing. The 3D is incredible and the few added scenes are short but memorable as all include a bunch of scenes where the dwarves cause havoc wherever they are and wich are really fun to watch and really make the movie feel much more fun. Also the hobbiton has some really worth seeing extended bits and in my view this version is also better than the theatrical one.
The extras are brilliant, detailed and seem to last forever, wich is great and really worth seeing and listening to.
Just buy it, you know you have to.

5.0 out of 5 stars One edition to rule them all for sure., 16 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Nothing much to say, other than the print quality is amazing, the 3D is out of this world and the extra scenes really ad a lot of new stuff that improves the story a lot with many details we never knew where there.
Also the extras are excellent and the making of documentaries are a must see even if you usually don't care much about those. Trust me.
Better than the theatrical cut for sure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible print on the second disc wich will marvel you if you love wide big natural landscapes and movies bigger than life., 16 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
What an incredible movie transfer. I had this movie in an old VHS tape and i had seen also an old dvd release some years ago and those transfers never impressed me much.
Now i bought this bluray edition and it blew me away completely. The print quality on this movie has to be seen to be believed considering its a movie with more than 50 years already.
It comes in two discs , the first one with the traditional 16:9 screen, a brilliant audio comentary and a fascinating 90 minutes documentary about the cinerama process and these bits alone would be worth the price, but then in the second blue ray there's a new print on a strange format wich tries to emulate the original cinerama screen and i can only say i'm absolutely impressed. If you have a large smart tv , you need to see this movie on the second disc. Forget about the traditional 16:9 version of the first one.
Trust me.

As for the story, i never cared much for westerns but i make an exception for this one. It's not only a western but mainly a brilliant saga that spans a couple of generations and where the characters grab our attention to the very end.
As an illustrator this must be one of the best visual reference movies i ever owned (along with Casablanca and Sound of Music) as each scene is a moving illustration in itself. If you're looking for an outstanding visual movie to test your brand new giant smart tv...before choosing a modern movie i would put How the West Was Won first as it's amazing beyond words and this must be one of the best blu-rays out there for sure.

5.0 out of 5 stars To my surprise this really is a good purchase if you're into the making of stuff., 16 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I usually don't buy these types of books, because they are nothing more than a collection of movie images printed in full page and they act more like a marketing tool to cash in on the movie sucess than anything else, (The Lord of the Rings ones were awful because of that).
But this one really surprised me. It contains a lot of info on the making of the movie, some good texts about the whole process and it really is a good companion book if you're interested in how movies like this are made. Even if you have seen the documentaries on the extras of the recent Hobbit movies , this is still a good book to ad to your collection, particulary if it's sold cheaply and not overpriced.

5.0 out of 5 stars Once again a superior concept art book, filled with tons of stuff to see., 16 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Another excellent design book for the movie. Not much to say really, its as good as the other two for the initial movies and it's full packed with hundreds of illustrations that you'll love. Traditional art, digital and mixed. It's incredibly detailed and there's so many stuff to see in here that it will take you months to noticed everything worth seeing in it properly.

This review is from: Star Wars Art: Posters (Hardcover)
Well as an illustrator i had to buy this. There's not much to say about this book. The edition is excellent, the printing quality is perfect and it has a ton of rare sketches and rarely seen posters done for star wars.
For a star wars fan is a must buy. For someone interested in illustration it's one no to miss too. For the general public, if you like good and varied drawings you cannot go wrong with this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fascinanting movie. Very well done and highly recommended., 16 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this one out of the blue because i liked the concept and the cover and i always buy a movie without knowing anything about it once in a while. As i'm an illustrator myself i'm always looking for reference material and this anime seemed like a good candidate.
Im glad i bought this. The story is great and the only reason i don't give it top marks is because i think it should have been more developed besides the typical bad guy chasing the heros.
Other than that, the atmosphere is great, the soundtrack is atmosferic, the characters are really cool and the whole final product is highly enjoyable. Love the landscape illustrations for example.
I noticed that at the begining it states that this was a movie finance by Kickstarter crowdfunding. Well, i can only say, well done to the filmakers of this one. I hope they make some more and i would love to see a sequel because the story leaves much untold and unexplored as the whole movie feels like a first episode of a possible great anime short series for cinema.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best character reference books i've bought in years...but not for everyone...it depends on what you're looking for..., 16 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is an excellent book if you're looking for reference material as it's filled with undreds of great character creations and so if you're looking to buy a book to be inspired this one is a great choice.
Although if you're looking more for tutorial book, wich explains in detail how to create works of this type be warned this is not the book you want. Most of the excellent texts in it describe more what goes behind the motivation and reasons to create each character than it tells the reader how to do it. It explains in detail why some details on the pics need to be that way and in this regard it's packed with lots of valuable information that probably you never thought of when creating your own characters.
But it's not a book that shows how to draw images like that.
If you want a character reference book ,this is a must own.
If you're looking for a illustration tutorial book look elsewhere.

4.0 out of 5 stars Probably the best collection of old time rare sci-fi series ever put togheter in a single dvd edition., 16 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Altough i've received this dvd box almost desintegrated in the mail, i cannot leave a negative comment here. This collection must really be one of the best old time rare television sci-fi ones out there. There's some boring and really crappy shows in the mix but at 150 episodes of many varied programs for the price i'm sure you'll find something in here that you will love. Particulary if you like old sci-fi.
Highly recommended. The graphic look of the box is excelent too.
