PITCH PERFECT, 4 Nov. 2010
Polly Samson invites you into these peoples lives and creates a sense of touching intimacy, the reader cares about the characters as they spring from the page in vivid hues. Her writing style is fluent and elegant, creating a book of stories that the FT has described as 'masterly'. I read this book in one sitting and found myself darting backwards to check on the trail of clues that Samson cleverly lays about these 'Perfect Lives'. I have to say I was shocked at the personal tone of two of my fellow reviewers and to suggest that a mother of four children leaves home, is rather despicable....Shame on you.
