4.0 out of 5 stars A cooking and ingredients encyclopedia, 14 Jan. 2011
This review is from: Culinary Artistry (Paperback)
This book is full of information on how to put ingredients together. There is a section in the book which allows you to look up an ingredient and it shows you what other ingredients/ herbs spices etc go well with it and in some cases there are also some recipe ideas. Personally i find this the most useful section as i often have something in my fridge or in mind and i am not sure what to cook with it. The book also goes into a detail about how to create a menu etc which is possible more useful for someone thinking about cooking more professionally rather than as a hobby at home.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great visuals and easy to understand, 14 Jan. 2011
This book makes you think not only about what you are cooking but how you will present it. It explains to you the techniques used in each of the dishes and at the back there are also a number of recipes. I used the parmesan basket shown on the cover at a dinner party and it made the dish look much more interesting. The book focuses on the main styles and does not show that many examples but i would recommend it to those who are struggling with their creativity and are looking for some tips on how to start.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good tips, 14 Jan. 2011
The book included some good tips and has made me think about how i listen to other people. Although a lot of the points are commonly known, when put together it makes you more aware about how you respond and present yourself in meetings. I would recommend this book to increase your awareness and help you improve your network, but i would say it is unlikely to dramatically change your career.
