Knock Knock [DVD]
Knock Knock [DVD]
Dvd ~ Keanu Reeves
Price: £6.99

2.0 out of 5 stars FREE PIZZA!, 11 May 2016
This review is from: Knock Knock [DVD] (DVD)
This movie is to Keanu Reeves what the Wicker Man was to Nick Cage. Avoid. The free pizza monologue is laughable.

Dead Ringers [DVD] [1989]
Dead Ringers [DVD] [1989]
Dvd ~ Jeremy Irons

2.0 out of 5 stars Irons is great but..., 11 May 2016
This review is from: Dead Ringers [DVD] [1989] (DVD)
Maybe it's knowing it's Cronenberg, or maybe it's the reputation, but I just didn't find this scary or shocking. There were two scenes which I could understand being upsetting/disturbing, but they were very brief in what felt like a very long film. This is a very hard to find movie and after the excitement of actually finding a copy, it just couldn't live up to the hype surrounding it.

1.0 out of 5 stars I'm rich, my life is so hard..., 19 April 2016
This review is from: Archipelago [DVD] (DVD)
Watching rich people whining about non existent problems and causing drama out of nothing is not something most people will be able to relate to. I've seen a few of Hogg's movies and they all have the same cliche ending. AVOID. Dull, dull, dull.

Unrelated [2007] [DVD]
Unrelated [2007] [DVD]
Dvd ~ Michael Hadley
Price: £6.00

2.0 out of 5 stars Not remotely relatable, 19 April 2016
This review is from: Unrelated [2007] [DVD] (DVD)
Unless you're rich and having an existential crisis, don't watch this movie. In fact, even then don't watch it. None of the characters are even remotely like able, the story is ridiculous and after all the angst and hand wringing we get an ending which is just...I won't spoil it but I would advise giving this movie a wide berth.

The Room [DVD]
The Room [DVD]
Dvd ~ Tommy Wiseau

4.0 out of 5 stars Wow....just wow., 13 April 2016
This review is from: The Room [DVD] (DVD)
Everything you've heard about this movie is true. It is....something else. Needs to be seen to be believed. Truly a mark of this generation, I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but if you get the chance, you need to see this movie.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not supposed to be a comedy!, 13 April 2016
This review is from: Splice [DVD] (DVD)
I enjoyed laughing at this film. The whole thing is utterly ridiculous even before you get into the scientific viability of the whole thing. The leads are scientists, but within the first part Adrien Brody has put a scalpel in his mouth that contains the bodily fluids of another creature. The 'scientists' would be kicked off any project within seconds of being that sloppy and careless. All the 'monster' story aside, we have some weird back story for Sarah Poley's character which is so vague and pointless you wonder if there was a lot more to it that they simply cut out. And don't even get me started on certain 'interactions' with Dren...View it as a comedy and it will be more enjoyable.

My Little Eye -- Special Edition [DVD] [2002]
My Little Eye -- Special Edition [DVD] [2002]
Dvd ~ Sean Cw Johnson
Offered by Telstar Entertainment
Price: £2.48

4.0 out of 5 stars Big brother, 13 April 2016
Another movie I'm sure Bradley Cooper would scrub from his resume. This film plays on the world's obsession with reality tv shows and how willing people are to do things for the chance of money. Unfortunately there are too many flaws in the system of this film. We meet the group after they have spent months in this house alone. I can't imagine why anyone would be watching for that long as they really are a dull group. There is no real object to the 'game' they don't have challenges or interaction with the audience they simply stay in the house for a year. That's it. Obviously things so a little doolaly at the end, but the twists are mostly predictable. It isn't a bad movie, its just got too many flaws to be enjoyable.

The Midnight Meat Train [DVD]
The Midnight Meat Train [DVD]
Dvd ~ Bradley Cooper
Price: £4.00

3.0 out of 5 stars Leave your brain at the door....on the floor..., 13 April 2016
You get the feeling that Bradley Cooper would probably prefer that this movie be scrubbed from his Resume as it truly is...something else. View this as a comedy and it can be hilarious in parts. Some of the gore and horror is so over the top it's laughable. Vinnie Jones is well cast as a menacing mute murderer who terrorises train users, but there is so much wrong with this film that it over shadows the pluses. Cooper's character's girlfriend in the movie is unbelievably annoying, whiny and ridiculous and just about every move the lead makes is ill advised and down right dumb. It is very much a 'DON'T OPEN THE DOOR' type movie where you are in disbelief at the stupidity of those involved.

The Good Son [DVD]
The Good Son [DVD]
Dvd ~ Macaulay Culkin
Offered by Discs4all
Price: £4.16

4.0 out of 5 stars Hidden Gem, 13 April 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Good Son [DVD] (DVD)
Watch this movie before Home Alone for a new take on the whole thing! Macaulay Culking really was a child actor force to be reckoned with and I don't think any movie shows that as well as this one. There is something genuinely frightening about such an angel faced child being so delighted by causing suffering. It's also fun to see Elijah Wood so young and innocent. Good idea, well constructed, very watchable.

The Clinic [DVD]
The Clinic [DVD]
Dvd ~ Andy Whitfield
Offered by FREETIME
Price: £3.96

3.0 out of 5 stars It 's watchable, 13 April 2016
This review is from: The Clinic [DVD] (DVD)
Whilst the movie wasn't awful, and was good at building tension in parts, the biggest take away from this film is the fact that it was one of the actor Andy Whitfield's last projects before he died of cancer. There are very slow parts of this movie which drag and some of the women involved are hard to like, but I liked the idea and the Urban legend feel of waking up in a bathtub of ice.
