5.0 out of 5 stars Very underpriced and overlooked Amp., 22 May 2016
Having spent a lot of time going through reviews and youtube etc. for a home practice amp to replace my Orange crush 20LDX (which has a great clean tone, but that's it).
I went down to large music centre to try out a Yamaha THR10C
and the store fortunately gave free access to everything (including the high end tube amps (£600+ and up range to help with the comparison and a couple guitars 1x hollowbody with P90's and Fender strat 60's mex. build))
I ended up walking away with a extremely cheap blackstar id:core 40w, much to my surprise, i'd figured on ending up with another orange or Yamaha or a tube amp (so I was expecting to be paying £225 up to £330).

The Blackstar ID: Core was being the least fussy about swapping through channels (not dropping out whilst resetting or completely changing volume) and as for the volume, tone etc. the 40w was the hitting the sweet spot (as ever it's personal taste thing but the Blackstar was creating the sound I wanted straight of the amp without pedals) where as the tube amps were a great base point but then would need extra pedals not to mention the cost of twin speaker tube amp is painful(e.g go have a look at the cost of decent twin speaker Fender amp).
I've still to get around to with trying out the patch tone settings which is apparently were this amp series really shines (note the bass, mid & high settings can be accessed live/stored usb+blackstar software (free)
also as bonus it's only 7kg!

the only downside was that a carry case is not included or a usb cable

(unfortunately I did neglect to try out one the equivalent Roland cube series, so I cant comment in regards to a comparison).

5.0 out of 5 stars Cannot recommend these enough, 2 April 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Cannot recommend these enough after spending countless hours of going through comparisons of gibson 57 humbuckers I chanced on these.
for the sake of swapping out my washburn 621 & 623 pickups to these (which was extremely easily done, even on a hollowbody), the difference is night and day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely good intermediate electro folk/super jumbo for player on a budget - as always play before you pay, 2 April 2016
Just picked up a second hand one, which had been bough new at the start of 2016 only a been played a couple months (still as per factory settings including pre-installed strings).

oddly the action is set low from the word go (no dreaded fret buzz)
Firstly this a folk guitar / super jumbo - NOT a dreadnought - which basically means its comfortable to play and the audio isn't uncomfortable in a small room.
Build quality is surprisingly good (comparing it to my Matsumoku built westone thunderjet guitar)
tone and intonation are full and retaining delicacy whilst finger picking an strumming (and after a year or two with decent amount of playing the tone improvement is likely to be additional bonus).
the pickguard (which is easily swapped out).

in short this ones gonna be keeper.

Try before you buy, it's a real love or hate guitar (I'd recommend trying it unplugged and then plugged through a yamaha thr5a).

Some great tracks on it, but a lot of weak ones to
its a listen before you buy.
Also the deluxe version is worth it as the additional songs on it are amongst the better ones
