Surprisingly brilliant!, 17 Dec. 2011
I was surprised this music is so brilliant as Robert Smith plays guitar alone; and this is all familiar material. But it is brilliant. The relatively stripped down arrangements bring out the beauty of the songs and the intensity of the lyrics and all the other things that long-time fans of the Cure know and love. Other side effects of there being no fancy dan guitarist are to bring forward the wonderful rhythm section and Roger O'Donnell's understated keyboards. So all these old songs sound wonderfully fresh and re-invigorated in what must have been a great concert and I just wish I had been there. And you can dance to it!
