Absolutely first class in depth account of Mr Merckx, this guys achievements are just phenomenal and in the current climate of professional cycling it is highly unlikely they will ever be replicated, cyclists just don't do what Eddy did the sheer volume of racing is mind boggling an excellent read which i finished in two days, couldn't put it down, highly recommended, well done Mr Fotheringham.

I'm not going into too much depth on this one just that i was brought up on Buddy and he will always be the GOAT in my eyes, and this CD gives a great overall experience of Buddy, the music and the talented musicians who were in his various bands. Highly recommended listening and i defy your foot not to tap!

An excellent watch, tough, big, solar powered and multi band 6 atomic timekeeping. All the functions work i set the tide graph up with my local tide table and this works really well as does the moon setting. This watch is also extremely comfortable and light and i don't know i'm wearing it. The function buttons are easily operated and require minimum effort to press them, i know this is an issue with some people, but honestly they are like soft touch buttons. The back light is excellent and can be set to illuminate for 1.5 or a 3 second duration and also can be set to illuminate automatically with a flick of the wrist. This is a chunky watch, i have 7.5" wrists, and the watch looks great, sitting high and bold you can't miss it!! If you like the G-SHOCK range of watches then you'll like this, if your new to them or looking to get one for the first time then get one i can't say you'll be disappointed, an excellent watch and recommended.

The battle for Mount Longdon brought to life in the way of a compilation of sorts of various interviews with former paras who were there and excerpts from various books that have covered this land battle. It is told as the three companys crossed the start line and as such crosses over the stuff one company was doing as the other company talks about what they were doing and seeing the other companys doing (if that makes sense) so you the reader are getting a truly panoramic view of the battle from all the different sets of mark one eyeballs that were there, an excellent read and recommended, well done Jimmy O'connell.

This review is from: Forward into Hell (Paperback)
From a soldiers point of view or should i say a 'Paras' point of view!! An excellent account of the battle for Mount Longdon, at times shocking, disturbing but all the more hard hitting because of this, Vincent Bramley pulls no punches and as such transports you into his world, a Paras world, the build up, the battle, the aftermath. Recommended reading.

"Sunray is down." Sergeant Blackburn, Lieutenant-Colonel Jones's radio operator, at about 9.30 am on 28th May, 1982, near Darwin Hill

" He was completely unconscious and the helicopter didn't arrive. For a few minutes afterwards i stayed there, trying to keep him warm with extra windproofs and his own quilted jacket. He died. I felt slightly numb because COs are not supposed to die." Sergeant Norman, Colonel Jones's bodyguard.

The battle forever famous for 'H's' death and the ferocity of the paras, this book isn't for the casual reader as it is an extensive and in depth account of the land battle for Goose Green, although this isn't a bad thing, has you the reader get all the info etc on the British and Argentinian forces and the political side of the story. An excellent read, recommended.
