Very good film that will take a little time to unravel it's seemingly strange plot. I highly recommend watching it.

Alien: Isolation - Nostromo Edition (PS4)

4.0 out of 5 stars Essential., 7 May 2015

While it's a bit too long and on perhaps a few occasions boring and frustrating Alien Isolation is stunning to look at and thrilling to play throughout most of the time. On top of that it's also an excellent entry into the Alien film franchise. If you're a fan of the films this should be treated as as essential purchase.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but forgettable., 5 April 2015
3.5/5
This is a slightly over rated first person shooter that's never the less enjoyable. It's strongest point is the gameplay which is better than other games in this genre. I appreciate that effort has gone into it's story but I felt it could have had more depth. As it is I wasn't particularly interested in it. The visuals are slightly dated but but not ugly. The environments that the game takes place in are a bit disappointing. The game is a good length and worth purchasing at it's current reduced price of around £18 but I don't think I'll play it again and wouldn't recommend it at full price.

2.0 out of 5 stars 2.5 / 5 Way too long, better than the last two but still merely average., 17 Mar. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It's far too long at 2 hours and 45 minutes but it's better than at least the last two films. The characters are typical for a Bay film (likeable enough males and hollow females) and it's somewhat entertaining. The writing and directing are terrible as one would expect from a Michael Bay film. The surprisingly starry male cast do an OK job considering the terrible material they have to work with but the female cast are all abysmal at acting. This so desperately wants to be like Fast & Furious but Bay just doesn't have it in him.

These are cheap and they do exactly what they're supposed to do. Slip them over your analogue sticks and you won't have to worry about the rubber coated wearing away. They add a little length to the sticks but it won't notably affect how you play.

4.0 out of 5 stars This has been accidentally yanked several times and remains in fine working order, 30 Oct. 2014

So far this has proven to be very durable. I find that most of these jack to jack cables prove to be quite flimsy, resulting in the loss of sound in one or both channels. This has been accidentally yanked several times and remains in fine working order. I'd suggest going for a longer one than 0.3m though.

3.0 out of 5 stars A very effective low budget horror., 30 Oct. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Willow Creek (DVD)
I thought this was a well acted and very tense found footage horror film. Willow Creek is essentially The Blair Witch Project but with Bigfoot instead of the witch. It's quite short at around 80 minutes and it's well paced so the time flies by. This is definitely worth renting.

1.0 out of 5 stars Garbage., 13 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Now You See Me (Blu-ray)
I can't think of anything positive to say about Now You See Me. In every aspect of film making it's horrendous. Above all the writing is atrocious. At it's best the story and dialogue is at the level of a mindless children's program. At it's worst it's borderline unwatchable. The cast all phone in their performances and quite frankly stink in this film. Jesse Eisenberg in particular is awful and wrongly cast. The score is terribly generic to the point of being comical. One hour in and I thought the film was average but the last 35/40 minutes are so stunningly bad that I was compelled to write this review giving it the worst possible rating.
