Parasite Pig
Parasite Pig
by William Sleator
Edition: Mass Market Paperback
Price: £6.21

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!, 30 Mar. 2011
Great sci-fi teenage fun. William Sleator has been under read on these shores for ages and this is a hugely entertaining and unsettling yarn. Recommended and his style is quite incomparable to other authors of this ilk. House of Stairs and Singularity are also brilliant.

1.0 out of 5 stars Comes up smelling of Fish, 30 Mar. 2011
This review is from: The Greek Seaman (Kindle Edition)
There is so much I could write about his book, but I won't waste your time. Never read it. Ever. Technically I'm not even sure this should qualify as a "book." I have no problem with people self publishing, but shouldn't cursory checks be put in place to ensure it makes any sort of grammatical sense before getting it out there? Truly dreadful, although in fairness I couldn't tell you if it was actually a decent story as I couldn't understand the vague attempt at the English language that had been made...

4.0 out of 5 stars Moving and memorable, 19 Nov. 2010
This review is from: Unhooking the Moon (Paperback)
This was a special little book... it's not quite as original as the weetzie bat series (which I'd recommend to anyone who enjoyed it) and there are a couple of moments that jar a little... but by and large this is a refreshingly honest take on adult issues through the eyes of children. It's funny, energetic and surprisingly moving. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Deeply moving, 15 Jan. 2010
This review is from: Handling the Undead (Paperback)
This book affected me like few others. It is desperately sad as well as being tense and intelligent. I'm staggered to find reviews insulting the book on here... it is one of the finest pieces of literature I've had the good fortune to read. I can only assume that human compassion has reached an all time low if you are not moved to tears by this novel.
