1.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointing, 7 Feb. 2009
This review is from: Going Dutch (Paperback)
I was very dissapointed in this book. The parts that have to do with the dutch are not very good and did not ring true, I am dutch and think that the author has been here at all. Story itself is nice enough but the author can do so much better. I would recommend reading / buying another book than this one.

3.0 out of 5 stars nice music for the real fans, 3 Aug. 2008
This review is from: McLeod's Daughters (Audio CD)
this Cd with music from the excellent aussie series mcLeods's daughters, is a must have for the real fan.
You can see all the episodes in your minds eye when you listen to the soundtrack.
However if you do not appreciate the series, this is not for you

Death Message (Tom Thorne Novels)
Death Message (Tom Thorne Novels)

4.0 out of 5 stars tension and laughs, 3 Aug. 2008
This book is about horrible murders happening and the killer sending DI Thorne the pictures of it on his mobile. The motives behind the murders are so much different and you can almost feel sympathy for the murderer. I also had to laugh a good couple of times, due to the witty dialoge between Thorne and Hendricks, and Porter.
Written in a spell-binding way, this book I could not put down.
I do recommend you read this book in the right order with the other Tom Thorne books by Billiingham, as some re-knowledge will enhance your reading pleasure and understanding of plot unfolding.

4.0 out of 5 stars Return of Hofner Bluenotes, 3 Feb. 2008
I went to the Amsterdam concert last night, and bought the book-album there. Listening to the 3 cd's in the car on the way home, I cccan only concluded that Chris Rea is a very true live artist. The voice and the sounds on the album as during the concert are genuine and strong. No meddeling in the recording studio, just pure music.
The Book consists of 3 Cd's and vinyl records as well as many pages on Hofner and all the lyrics.
The cd's actually look like vinyl records too, so much attention has been given to details.
It is a lovely keepsake!

5.0 out of 5 stars perfect meditation material, 14 Jan. 2006
This review is from: Algonquin Suite (Audio CD)
This CD contains music with nature sounds mixed together. You either hate that sort of thing or love it. I have used this CD to get relaxed and help me get to sleep. The music sort of takes you on a journey through a forest. You could imagine yourself in a little boat, paddling along a river and you hear/see all sorts of different things.
I can recommend this CD to all people who like to meditate of need help to relax and stop the ongoing train of thoughts in your head. I can also see this CD being helpfulwhilst giving massages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent game, addictive, 20 July 2005
Myst- Uru path of the shell is another great game from the makers of Myst!. It is very nicely done, some excellent video's in it, and the level of the puzzles to be solved is challenging. I especially liked the sound effect, some of the background music is so hauntingly beautiful!
I played this game during a long and dark winter (2004-2005) and it was for me a great escape from the long days.
I recommend it to the game enthousiasts, and even if you want to cheat and use a walk-thru it is still a very cool game.
You start the game by deciding what your character looks like (face, body, clothes) and then set of in a desert like place with a quarry. You can run jump and move in all sorts of ways. If you prefer you can also change the mode to the 1st person, as in previous games. From there on you find the different hand-prints and tasks and go to different worlds. Very exciting!
I can tell you more but that would be giving it away.

5.0 out of 5 stars very good movie, 20 July 2005
This review is from: Lolita [1962] [DVD] (DVD)
I personally really like this movie, the re-make of cult film Lolita. The acting in it is of a very high level, making the emotions very believable. Controversial though the subject of this movie (and the original book) is, this makes it not dirty or horrible as you might think.
It really is very beautifully done.
Top marks to the makers!

4.0 out of 5 stars good read!, 20 July 2005
This 6th book about Harrry Potter is a very good read. I did not find it as scary as some of the previous books, but the climax at the end is nerve-wrecking. After finishing it i felt really sad it was over!
I would not recommend reading this book as a stand-alone, you definately need the knowledge of the previous 5 to fully enjoy this numer 6!
Go buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful album from well-known Egyptian artist., 27 May 2003
This review is from: Tamally Maak (Audio CD)
This is another wonderful cd of the popular Amr Daib. I really liked the title song, which is the second track. It is a true reflection of the rythm and taste of Egypt, and then I mean modern egypt and not the egypt so many of use think of as in the time of the history books. Amr Daib mixed traditional instruments with modern mixes and beats, he sings also in a mix of tradtional arabic vocal use and modern. Well worth trying of you prefer something arabic with a western twist.

5.0 out of 5 stars Acorna continues!, 27 May 2003
This review is from: Acorna's Rebels (Hardcover)
It is simply wonderful to be able to dive into another adventure of Acorna. The story is about cats mainly, and as you might remember, RK (road Kill) was present in Acorna's life from the first book on. This time they return to his assumed home planet and are able to help people and cats and cat-people in a great way. Also Acorna continues to look for Aari in this saga. I won't spiol the end for you yet. I am already longing for the next Acorna book!
