Pipes of Peace – Great opening song, has all the right points to make this a classic 9/10

Say Say Say – Great pop tune with Jackson, full of fun and a joyful song to listen too 8/10

The Other Me – Simple song but effective. Bit boring after a while 6/10

Keep Under Cover – Catchy number but lyrically silly 6/10

So Bad – The high vocal just about works from Macca, nicely done 7/10

The Man – Another collaboration with Jacko, not as strong as Say Say Say but very catchy 7/10

Sweetest Little Show – Sounds like a Wings song, not much here lyrically but a sweet little number 6/10

Average Person – Simple song again, but is catchy and lyrically funny and fun 7/10

Hey Hey – Almost wordless, apart from hey Hey every now and then, Boring 5/10

Tug of Peace – Seems like it was made for the end of Tug of War album, with a McCartney II sound, average song 6/10

Through Our Love – Great end song, great lyrics and typical beautiful McCartney, best song on the album 9/10

Verdict

Better than Tug of War (just), this offers a great range of ditty’s that are consistently catchy. The album has a bit of a dip in the middle, but the start and end of the album is tip top Macca.

The bonus tracks are mainly demo’s and seem a bit pointless, Jackson provides a great guest vocal on this album and certainly puts this album ahead of other McCartney collaborations. Overall, not a bad album, well-constructed and a great album to start if you was to begin listening to McCartney, full of fun and a joyful sound throughout.

Rating: 7.5/10

4.0 out of 5 stars It's a Tug of War Album, 5 Oct. 2015

This review is from: Tug Of War (Audio CD)
Track by Track

Tug of War – Orchestrated to brilliance, has emotion and is a great opening track 7/10

Take it Away – Chirpy and McCartney on fine form with a typically Macca tune, foot tapper 7/10

Sombody who Cares – Sounds great but lacks a certain depth and makes this just listenable 6/10

What’s that You’re Doing? – What a messy piece of trash, should have been a B-Side 4/10

Here Today – A Beautiful tribute to Lennon, full of passion and just sheer brilliance 8/10

Ballroom Dancing – Catchy little ditty, full of big sound moments 8/10

The Pound is Sinking - Whilst this started promising it is very messy, it has a tune but nothing that would be remembered 6/10

Wanderlust - Without a doubt the best track on the album, typical Macca, but executed with brilliance 9/10

Get It – Simple, I don’t get it – 5/10

Be What you See – Pointless link 3/10

Dress me up as a Robber – Silly song but has an interesting melody and catchy 7/10

Ebony & Ivory – Bit of a dud, sat at the end of the album, can’t help feeling this should have been a stand-alone single 5/10

Verdict

Whilst many say this is one of Macca’s best albums, I somewhat disagree. Where it is better than the over produced McCartney II, this album is not better than Pipes of Peace, this album is somewhat disjointed, mismatched and messy at times. The re-mix on this release is good, barley any difference, however good to hear the demo’s on the bonus CD, even though I feel that we are being dealt a losing card with not hearing some better rarities.

Overall, an average album with a fair amount of dud’s mixed with some real classics, I can see now why it was called Tug of War, struggling from mediocre trash to foot tapping classics, one for the die hard’s.

Rating: 6/10

So where's the simulation in this, it's just pages of sounds, nothing else.
Why would anyone want to buy a sound pad with no actual simulation and third rate sounds
Rubbish app.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Nice bit of Digging - and a few treasures., 2 Jan. 2012
I can't see the entire logic of this release. We have had 18 series of this great programme and it's only now they want to release a series to DVD. What's the point?, we are missing the other 17 series, in all fairness i would far more appreciate and i'm sure other Time Teams fans would like to see the older series'.

Series 18 was a So-So series, so over invented by the fact we had reached the 200 episode, in some ways makes this kind of special, but in realistic terms, there is only a handful of good digs.

Maybe a release after this this release we might see the other 17 series being released... Maybe Tony and the Team might have to dig to find them first.

This is a great DVD for Frankie's Stand Up Fans.

I personally don't mind it but it gets a bit repetitive after awhile, many jokes become reused to often.

Overall it's a great DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything We Waited For..., 18 Sept. 2011
This is the ultimate companion.
Forget the first Book (By another author on this Subject) This is the one that will tell you everything you wanted to know about Britain's best love Sitcom.

It starts with the general premise of what become On the Buses, with interviews from the cast and crew and the writers themselves.
It then goes on to the making of the programme and how hard and difficult it really was to film.
This then goes on through the films and Cast Bios.

It's not just the the fact this goes into so much detail that makes it great, it's the fact the author has taken time to actually make this a book with care and attention to detail. It is so in death and features so much information that this is the book that should be included with a DVD box set, it will make every fan happy and simply a book which no On the Buses fan could do without.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Rare Frankie Gem, 1 Jun. 2011
This review is from: Jumping for joy [DVD] (DVD)
It's not every day you get something this great from the archives that really get you excited, here comes an early Frankie Howerd gem.
He buys a greyhound and enters it in a major race, but gets mixed up with criminals who want to fix the race by doping dogs.
With a bunch of comedy greats, this is a classic
