5.0 out of 5 stars Great Tablet and benchmark comparaison., 12 Sept. 2014
After much research where to go to buy a tablet and how much to spend on it i finally decided to go for this one, the Galaxy Tab S 10.5. some others have been close contenders, but the looks were not to my liking, except the Apple Ipad, and the Samsung had best of both worlds, killer looks and Android.

i did not buy it on Amazon, but use Amazon a lot so also contribute towards helping others as others help me. I paid 503 (£402) in Fnac Shop in Marbella, Spain including the book cover and a free microUSB to USB adapter.

First impressions, its light, looks great and very speedy and smooth to play around with a great screen. I bought the official Book Cover for it, albeit quite expensive, but Samsung have really thought about this in the designing and everything, a perfect match... (you do need to press quite hard to secure the tablet into the buttons)

Benchmarking:
(using AnTuTu Benchmark) - ran 5 times at different times and usage to get average.
Samsung Galaxy Pro S 10.5: Total Score: 37,089.

This compares to - regardless of specifications:
The highest benchmark score Antutu has is a XIAOMI MI PAD Tablet PC 7.9 scoring 54,321.
Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet 33669
Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) 32408
Sony Xperia Tablet Z 19675
Apple Ipad Air 28446
HP Slate 8 Pro 32064

Benchmarking with FutureMark 3DMark - mostly for graphics performance, but this strains the most out of any hardware
IceStorm Standard: Maxed out 100% result.
IceStorm Unlimited - 13,350
in the same category of specifications this is 3rd most powerful: with Lepan TC1020 1st with 13388 score
IceStorm Extreme - 9294
In the same category of specifications this is 3rd most powerful: with Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 1st with 9373 score

Design:
Maybe the best looking Samsung yet, if not best looking tablet (according to taste). However, Samsung have really thought this through in looks and the accessories. The Book Cover, yes it is expensive, some say its not good quality, but its a perfect fit. leaving the whole tablet exposed. This is thx to well thought of buttons at the back of the tablet that incrust into the two buttons on the cover. i love it.
I did not buy it but saw it and played with it, the keyboard, also great design and really looks like a mini laptop when put together, easily done and when closed very neat and professional looking by protecting it also.

Battery:
Amazing battery life (so far) (charged on full Wednesday night) played with it as it was new, settings, installing/updating apps, etc and we are now Friday lunch time and it just beeped at me with 15% left as I am writing this review.
Ran all 3 3DMark tests using a hell of a lot of power, used only 12%!

Charge Time: From dead, Tablet off, charging from the mains - full charge 4h30mins.
(I always charge fully and run battery till dead 3 times when products are new)

Extra memory:
Very important and you can upgrade the memory up to 128gig if needed with the expansion slot.
When you buy you also get 50gig free for 2 years with Dropbox.

Speakers:
For what they are they are pretty good, two on each side for stereo sound but don't expect hi-fi sound. I have a couple UE BOOMs which are amazing.

Screen:
Amazing, nothing to say bad about it.

Weight:
it is surprisingly quite light. A friend has an Apple iPad and it is so much heavier.

In all, this is a great Tablet and comparing cost versus performance, I think this has the best all round performance per nugget, with great looks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Modem - the only way to improve Virgin Media - (maybe Sky), 8 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Well, like most people who bought this - reading reviews and other peoples experience with the cr*p Virgin Media Modem they supply - I decided to use their modem in Modem mode - and link it to this one!

So glad I did - not only has my wifi improved - i no longer get drop outs, or bottle necks to reboot the modem - last check i did before this review - full connection, still running strong after 3 weeks with no reboot..

A breeze to set-up if you read the manual and you know what things mean....

great buy - great price! don't go for the more expensive Netgears - as this is truly a good product for under £100!

Sky users - this may work... not sure - but VM users - buy safely!

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't believe only so few reviews!, 8 Mar. 2014
I guess like most people looking for a Bluetooth speaker the choices for this price range £120 to £200 will be down to just 2 at this present time (March 2014) The Ultimate Ears UE Boom or the Bose Soundlink Mini - both retailing at about £160 each,

I've been looking for a few years for the ideal portable companion, and for many years many were out but all were just not good enough and i gave in and for the last couple years bought a pair of XMI X-MI X-mini MAX v1.1 Capsule which did me fine on holidays, park parties etc etc etc - but quality wise was not there at all nor was the volume.

For the last 6 months - traveling a lot through airports - I listened to both the UE and the Bose - and they are very close contenders.

Bose: amazing sound quality - design great - good build quality, but for me i did not feel it was a portable enough to bring out and about... the design of Bose seems to be more in home, room portable - with great sound quality, maybe slightly deeper in sound base. great product!!

UE Boom: Again, always comparing both - but due to portability, volume is great, sound quality compared to other portable products is amazing and i opted to buy the UE Boom, and I so don't regret it!

Saying that - in this price range - comparing is important - and i urge all to compare both the Bose and the UE! everyone will have their preference and they are in my opinion the only two competitors in this price range.

Why the UE? despite negative remarks on battery life online - mine goes on forever - on product specs says 15 hours, compared to 7 on the Bose, its so much more portable and rugged to bring out with you and party wherever you are as it goes louder than the Bose. that was my choice and I love it! No regrets - I bought mine at the airport, but using Amazon regularly i thought to add my experience as bought many products thanking other peoples reviews...

listen to both if you are in this market and ready to spend £150 ish
