5.0 out of 5 stars Well, what can I say?, 2 Nov 2006
I don't see how I can right a review on this without it getting teared to pieces. But, I do want to reccomend this a lot. She is very hot, the pictures are great, and there is a decent amount of space given away from the pictures to actually tell you the date and day.

Do NOT buy this if you have a family. This calendar is not just Keely in hot underwear, but it is rather more explicit than that. The calendar is great for any teenager, or young male.

Once again, not if you have a family, and if you are a christmas shopping mum do not buy this for young kids. The pictures are great, better than any of the other "girl" calendars, for anyone looking for a real hot calendar to spice up their bedroom and to show off to friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best, simplist book of Jamie Oliver so far, 25 Oct 2006
All though all of Jamie's books are good, there were all complicated to follow. There were to many this and that's and the ingredients were expensive. But now, as the book says; this helps you become a better cook. The ingredients are easy to get; they are simple things like common vegetables and meats that are not too expensive. The book is easy to follow, the foods are simple yet different in their own little ways, and still lovely.

Maybe some people that have loved Jamie's past books will be slightly disappointed with this one, but I wouldn't have thought so. This book is for new coming cooks that want to prepare a meal for any number of people. Jamie concentrates on everything in this book, loads of different food types: meaty main courses, desserts, veggie meals and even how to make simple fruit and veg better to eat.

I am now third of the way through this book (I haven't cooked everything) and all of the meals that I have followed in this book so far are excellent. The really important thing is that the recipes turn out just like the pictures provided, they are that simple to follow that they are always just like what they are supposed to look and taste like.

I would recommend this book to ANY inexperienced cook, or even a experienced one. This book is fantastic, even though the recipes are simple, and the food is not expensive, the meals are brilliant. This is to improve your everyday food, and there are even some tips on the techniques of making the food. This book is one of my best cooking guides. A must buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Make War Not Love" is as true as it gets in the 60's, 20 Oct 2006
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
A definite improvement on the original, but not all that much different on game play and story. The graphics are once again surprisingly excellent, which you wouldn't expect from this type of PS2 game. The story is still as strange and funny as the firsts. The weapons and abilities are even better now, and as unique. The game play is a lot like the firsts, but there are tonne of new features, new locations, and new characters.

Including number 1's weapons, you have now got the all new: The Dislocator, which throws objects/people into the air and then they just bounce crazily off everything. The Beast Burrower, which is by far the coolest, this sends a giant worm in the ground to pop out of the ground and eat whatever target you have picked. The Meteor Strike, used for extra damage, sends a meteor down from space to squash anything. The Gastro Gun, which drops an alien named Gastro, hr shoots nearby enemies and sucks in their attacks. As well as the old mental abilities he can now make his victims follow him or protect him, and the mind flash, which makes all of his witnesses forget everything at your threat level becomes zero.

It is amazing the absolutely massive locations, including America, Britain, Japan, the Moon and the Soviet Union. In each of these countries/communities he goes around in one massive city, everything is done in excellent detail, time, and near proper maps. The best thing is that you can destroy recognisable places, including the Big Ben. There are so many places, and they all have secret weapons and upgrades. In this one collecting DNA is no longer the main issue, which is good, you now only haft to collect DNA and the remains of peoples for upgrades.

The soundtrack is absolutely superb, classics from the 1960's (which is when the game is set). Your main opponents are the MI5 and the KGB. Crypto still has his witty and funny one-liners, and it is hilarious what he says sometimes after he has used his "muck" gun. Overall I think this is a brilliant game, the levels are no longer repetitive like the firsts. This game will truly have you flying around for months and months, for the sheer fun of it. The story itself is not very long, but there are so many different ways you can do it. For anyone who want a laugh and a long lasting game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still going strong, the huge ipod is a real star in MP3's., 17 Oct 2006
When my Ipod Nano broke, so I sought out a new MP3. Many of my friends recommended a video Ipod because they had a massive amount of memory and the fact that they can play videos. So, looking at both white and black versions, I decided to get the black, I think it looks better. And, when I first got it I was very impressed...

For holding 7,500 songs, or 12,500 photos, the Ipod is not bad in size standards. While listening to songs, you can see the album artwork as well, in vivid detail. Everything is in colour, the manufacturers boast about such technology. The videos are excellent as well, they sound just as good as the songs and look just as good as modern day TV, the timing between the sound and pictures is perfect. The games are decent, not that entertaining, but do look good in colour screen. My favourite game is `Music Quiz', where the Ipod plays a song and you have to guess which it is in a few seconds. The Ipod has a sensitive touch, when you move down play lists. The controls are very simple; you don't really even need to read a manual. The Ipod can go to really high volumes, but this can screw up the Apple headphones it comes with.
The only downside features wise is the fact that it isn't very durable and so if you scrape it then the black paint might come off, doesn't look very good. Talking about durability the screen can be scratched very easily, and any scratch always leaves a thin long white mark along the screen.

Now, why I only gave it four stars: Sometimes it will completely screw up. The Ipod will show no sign of life and you will think it is completely broken. To me this only happens for a few days, but it is extremely annoying. This usually happens when it is charging on the computer. I leave it in a room charging, come back a few hours later, and it will be turned off. I try to turn it back on, but it won't, then a few days later; it will be as good as new. But at least it has permanently messed up, yet...........

Overall this is an excellent machine in what it does; videos, songs, photos and memory. But in what YOU do with it, it isn't really that good. I really think the manufacturers where concentrating on all of the features. I really don't understand why it screws up roughly every two weeks, which is how often I charge it up because it plays 50hours of music when the battery is full. Well, the massive amount of good things overpower the bad things:

3.0 out of 5 stars Probably the most obvious GTA clone yet..., 1 Oct 2006
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Just Cause (PS2) (Video Game)
The game play, controls, and game itself is extremely similar to GTA. Although the story is much different. It is similar to GTA in that you can have entire free roam of the games massive map, set in San Esperito, a South American tropical island. Also, when you are going around doing your own thing, you can create havoc. This is similar to GTA because you can terrorize people and get chased around by the opposition.

The story: You play as Rico Rodriguez, who is a CIA black ops agent. You are in the middle of this tropical island because of your mission; to overthrow this island's dictator who is suspected to be in possession of doomsday weapons, weapons of mass destruction. This is based on a real life war against Guerrilla fighters. The island looks fantastic, and the whole island is an absolutely massive place to roam. Like GTA, you will be on this game for months exploring and starting the game all over again.

As you go through there is not a very good explanation or story for all the things you do all the way through; the game play does get slightly boring. Also, the real big problem about the game is that it is really short; there are 21 story missions, all of which, like GTA, don't take long to do. 20 missions in a game like this is not nearly enough, these themselves only takes 4 hours. But, there are over 300 side missions, an absolute mass. The side missions are what keep you playing this game. After a while though, after about two game completions, you start to realize that the side missions start to get boring and repetitive. There are really cool methods of transport, including sky diving, boats and helicopters. Rico has really cool gadgets like grappling hooks, Para gliders, and parachutes. And of course he has a massive array of weapons. This is just like GTA; the most annoying thing is that the controls are similar to GTA.

Overall, I think that this game is very entertaining, loads of extras to do, until about 3 or 4 weeks. I would not advise you to buy this game if you are looking for a long game that you will be hooked to for ages. There are many good points about the game, the stunning landscapes and the very good story based on real happenings for examples. However, there are the bad points, I don't think this game would have ever come out if there were no GTA games, also the game play is repetitive.

3.0 out of 5 stars At times dissapointing, but you my find the features good?, 25 Sep 2006
The sound is good, the colours are good, and the fact you can hold photos is awesome. But, this was not for me. When I first bought it, I didn't get a case for it. After mere days there were scratches all over it, it is not very durable. When I did buy the case for it, it was fine afterwards. One night I handed it to a friend for about a couple of minutes, (I was watching him), and then he dropped it. I thought no worries `cause it's inside the case, but when I saw it again it had split in the middle. NOT VERY DURABLE.

Good Points: It is good to carry around, your hand can hold it perfectly and it will fit into the slimmest of jean pockets. The colour screen is very good; you can see photos in the screen as precise as a digital camera, and also when playing a song the Ipod will automatically show you the cover of the CD the song comes from. But if the song was not provided by Itunes, then you will not see the CD cover, unless you insert it separately. The games are okay, basically the same as a Mini-Ipods, except the fact that they are in colour. The games include Solitaire, Parachute, Brick and something else that I can't remember (been six weeks since I had mine). Also the songs are good, they sound excellent, but can't cope with too much base at higher volumes. Speaking about volumes, the Ipod Nano can go at really high volumes, it would hurt your ear in the earphones, but it is good to show off to all of your friends.

Bad Points: Well, the fact is that I think that these don't have good durability, but there are some small other reasons too: The materials used to make the MP3 are very bad, metal around the sides just doesn't feel right, plus the fact that it can be lost very easily thanks to its small size.

The Ipod Nano comes in a box also containing: USB cable, Itunes software, Ipod headphones, and charger. Itunes will give the Nano all the songs, photos and slideshows at the click of a button. The nano's battery life can last up to 14 hours, depending on the volume level, memory and if the backlight is switched on or off. The memory (2GB) can hold 500 songs or 12,500 photos (one or the other, not at the same time).

Overall I think that it is good for what it does, but not for the looks or texture. Itunes is awesome, and the songs and photos are excellent. I still can't believe that it broke with the case in. For that fact itself minus two stars easy, but then there are a lot of good points and extras when you do have it, plus three stars.

Overall: 6/10

Sony Silver PlayStation 2 Console (Slimline)
Sony Silver PlayStation 2 Console (Slimline)

5.0 out of 5 stars Bets version of the PS2!, 25 Sep 2006
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
The PS2, only way cooler.

Good game play, has excellent picture, excellent sound and smooth controls (depending on the game). But most of all the quality figure of the PS2 silver, smaller model stand out: the looks are brilliant. The silver is way better than black, and so are the controls. The smaller model is no smaller in the area of the top and the bottom; the console is just far slimmer, easy to fit on top of a DVD player and under the TV screen. Far more useful than a massive Xbox console.

The PS2 can play the games of not just the PS2, but you can play games from the PS1. So, if you don't want to, you don't even need to get a new console, because this updates the graphics on the PS1 games. As well as all the games the PS2 can even play (music) CD's, or DVD's. Both work extremely well. The DVD's are as in excellent picture as a modern TV, plus the sound of the CD's work extremely well, sounding just as good as a CD Player. The console is clever, if you try to play a pirate copy of a film then the PS2 silver will automatically: Drain all colour, allow no sound, (or both), or it will quite simply not play the CD at all. Don't worry if a red screen comes up saying it can't read the disc, it is very sensitive to fingerprints and other things that can get on CD's, so you will most probably just haft to wipe the disc.

The equipment you need for this console is:

Up to 4 controls (the maximum amount PS2 will allow), depending on how many people you are planning to play with, most games are two-player so I recommend getting 2 controls. You can get wireless controls, which are far superior to normal PS2 controls. Do not worry about getting a separate system-link; it is already inside the console. The system link is reeaally cool. Finally and most importantly, you need a memory card. Custom colour, they can hold memory for (on average) 25-30 games. Don't lose it or all of you games progresses will be lost. The games are up to you; you decide whether you are mercenary, sportsman or a street racer.

This style of the PS2 is way better looking than any other version, the colour and the structure. One tiny problem is that it can get scarred easily, showing the black underneath. All the good things on the PS2 silver cancel out this one tiny mistake.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most features I have ever seen in DVD's!, 25 Sep 2006
Good, but there is really no need to spend extra for 3 discs.......
There are tonnes of extras (as you would expect from 3 discs) and they are all very good, my favourites being Deleted Scenes, Image Gallery and Moonlight Serenade Scene Progression. There are only about 10 extras that you would really be interested in or even watch, so there is no point in all of these extras; most of the these are as boring as hell to watch; such as Becoming Jack. The thick box that the three-edition box set comes in is very attractive and feels good.

The story (if you don't already know) *****: Set in the 1700's, Port Royals ships stumble upon a young boy named Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) lost at sea, they save him. Elizabeth (Keira Knightly), the daughter of the governor discovers a golden skull medallion around his neck, she fears he will be executed for piracy, so she takes it herself. The story continues 8 years later. This is a truly awesome film; the graphics, the plot, the acting and well, everything. Johnny Depp plays Jack Sparrow and he is a truly believable pirate. All of the acting is good.

The fighting scenes are awesome. Especially the one when all of the pirates sneak up on the Royal Port's ship. The graphics are excellent for when the Black Pearl's crew turn skeleton-like. The plot is original, and very good. Children under 9ish might not quite follow it. This film, as well as being adventure/action, is also a comedy. There are laugh out loud moments for both parents and children, this is a real family film. This film came 22nd in USA's history of best selling films, and it does live up to its standard.

As I said, you don't really need to buy this three-edition box set; two discs would do you fine. But if you are a real fan (like me) then you should buy this edition, even though you may not ever open the third disc. The film itself earns its 5 stars, and all of these extras are even for greater value,

Canon IXUS 65 Digital Camera[6MP 3 X Optical]

5.0 out of 5 stars A big improvement on the IXUS 60!, 25 Sep 2006
Small, good lookin', what are you waiting for?!

One of the best cameras out today. My wife collects the 60 series, and she says it's the best out of the lot! This is quite pricey, there are a few digital cameras cheaper than this, but this is the one which is under 200 AND extremely good. All of the other excellent digital cameras are at least over 250, this is a bargain.

Lots of detail, enough so that you can print pictures on the computer, and still look very good. When taking a photo, there are many features and modes for you to chose from to get the perfect picture. There is zoom, 3x options of it so you can get the exact picture you want. The ISO 800 and High ISO auto settings allow you to take pictures outdoors and in the dark, but it is not very bright, but extremely helpful because it does still capture all of the detail you could want. There are 16 shooting modes all made for specific times and locations; underwater, nighttime, foliage, those sort of things.

The shot can be turn into 6:9 wide screens, and can be viewed on your computer and TV, and you can print them, and the pictures lose none of their detail in large size. On the computer you can edit them and set them as things - really good. Also, another little helpful fact of the camera is that the screen is slightly curved, so anyone crowding around to see a picture can all see it properly.

The camera is very small and cool looking. It is slim, quite small in area, the screen is still relatively big, and the camera is really nicely painted and polished. It is really nice to hold because it fits right into your hand and fells smooth. If you are looking for a digital camera that is quite cheap and good to show off with then this is for you. The camera is fragile so be careful.

Overall I believe this a really good-looking, well-made camera from Canon. It is also easy to use; you don't need to read a manual to get used to the camera's settings. Very nice in all aspects. But, if you are looking for a complicated, expensive digital camera then the IXUS 65 is not for you.

10/10
