4.0 out of 5 stars its really not as bad as these reviews make it out to be, 7 Nov. 2016

i had this on pre-order the second i heard about it, i was so excited to get a dub of one of my favourite shows released over here and honestly it isnt a bad dub, and trust me when i say i know bad dubs, all the voice actors do a pretty good job as their characters especially patrick seitz as dio, who completely nails the voice, the visual quality is actually pretty standard for a dvd, the other reviews just make it sound worse because its not a bluray with 1080p, i say be thankful we got the first season though judging by the negative backlash this release has seen we probably wont get any more, which really sucks , id rather have an average release than no release at all, and a true jojo fan would take what theyre given rather than whine like a little bitch about it not being a perfect version maybe the lack of future releases will teach these 1star review jerks a lesson to just accept that this is what we got and we should be thankful we even got this much,
now is the best time to buy this at less than £8 its a steal, especially for the first 2 arcs i wholly recommend buying it, especially as a stocking filler now that christmas is coming up

5.0 out of 5 stars a great, must have app for anime fans, 25 July 2015

This review is from: Anime & Manga Amino (App)
This is a really great app with an easy to learn system, there's alot to like here, a lot of people post really interesting blogs about anime, manga and Japanese culture in general, there's a lot of great people on there to meet too, which you can do by visiting one of the many user created public chat rooms, these vary from simple chats about your favourite anime to various RP sessions both of which can transform into utter hilarious insanity at the drop of a hat, I've made a few new friends thanks to the app and I encourage you to try it out

5.0 out of 5 stars pretty amazing,, 25 July 2014

I never thought that higurashi would come to kindles but I'm so glad it has, it runs very smoothly, as for the story, don't let its cute characters and childish art style fool you, while it has its fair share of goofy comedy this is not for the feint of heart,it has a unique take on the psychological horror/ thriller genre like no other and as I said, despite its cute appearance it gets very dark fairly quickly, here's hoping that this release is successful enough for the others to be released soon

5.0 out of 5 stars a truly stunning artbook, 21 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
i have always been a huge fan of the fate franchise so when i found out about the english release of the first artbook, i jumped at the chance to own it, i pre ordered it about a month ago when the release date was june 17th, then it was moved forward to the 3rd of june (my birthday) and i was pretty excited, so imagine my surprise when i got an email yesterday to say it was moved forward again to this thursday (22nd may)and it was on its way, it arrived today (wednesday 21st) and it really is one of the most beautiful books i have ever owned, it contains all the full cgs for the "safe" version of the game, omitting all the h-scenes in order to appeal to a wider audience, there is still some mild nudity but its nothing too graphic. the art really is quite beautiful and was well worth the £30 i paid for it, if you are a fan of the fate series or even if you just like collecting art books, this is well worth buying

5.0 out of 5 stars The microwave is a time machine?, 5 Jan. 2014
This is a review of the show as a whole not just this first volume,

So I went in to steins: gate completely blind after a friend recommended it to me, he told me it's one of the few cases of a time travel story done right, and he was right, the story centres around okabe rintarou or houin kyouma as he prefers to be called and his friends who are members of the future gadget lab, after he accidentally finds the dead body of kurisu makise, a respected scientist he sends a message to his friend which eventually leads to him discovering that his latest creation, a phone connected to a microwave, can send text messages into the past,

It may sound stupid at first but the story and characters are very well written, it doesn't make up nonsense to explain everything either. it uses real scientific theories to try to explain certain things, granted they are just theories but it does help to make the made up science they use more believable

If I did have to say anything bad about the show it would be the slow start to it, and I don't just mean a slow opening episode, I mean the whole first half which is in this first volume but at the same time if you make the effort to invest in the characters this is also a good thing, it gives you the chance to get attached to the characters and get a feel for their personalities which is rare for a show,it also has one of the best Senses of humour that I have ever seen from a show like this, with references to doctor who and star trek littered throughout, there's even a sneaky little portal reference in there, round it off with one of the best English dubs in anime to date and you have one of the best anime in recent years in my opinion any way, if you have the money spare, definitely buy volumes one and two
