5.0 out of 5 stars an actual improment, 16 July 2009
I have a theory that it is imposible for a sequal or prequal to be better then the original but this has actualy proved me wrong as Briliant as Underworld and Underworld evolotion where nether where as epic or as thought out as Rise of the Lycans.

and I must admit I was sceptical - this could be just another 'twilight fan' pleaser but not only did it hold true to the orignals but it managed to stand the test of time as well.

1.0 out of 5 stars not much beauty here, 4 Jun. 2009

Despite some superb songs overall this was a disappointment more a show case of Nuclear Blast's (publisher) stable than a selection of quality bands. a waste of money and time.

5.0 out of 5 stars grating against your ears drums in all ther right ways, 4 Jun. 2009
SOTY is not different form other bands its' just not the same as them and this album really emphasis this. it screams we are other than the norm and actually pulls it of reasonably well, something so many have failed at in the past.

4.0 out of 5 stars an improvment on a well established genre, 4 Jun. 2009
This review is from: Gods Of Vermin (Audio CD)
SOS has played it safe with Gods of Vermin by sticking to familiar territory whilst giving the impression that its looking to go outside to box, a fantastic first album that promises good things ahead.

as well as being a reasonably usable for a console RTS which is a feat in of itself, it is also something of a work of art. This said so was okami and unfortunately the with RTS track record on consoles and the overly cutsy style of the game, this will not go anywhere fast.

1.0 out of 5 stars only good for the spotlight It brought to the Genre, 5 May 2009
An unimaginative story with far to many similarity's to LJ smith's Greatly superior The Awakening (The Vampire Diaries) (1991).

The Characters are unchanging with a mildly robotic quality. the 'good guy' is not only controlling, manipulative, overbearing and a liar but he has murdered and whilst he claims to regret it he shows no remorse and can't really be trusted anyway.

The female lead is somewhat lacking in personality and has a unrealistic and frankly quite bizarre 'put everyone first' 'nothing for me' 'I'm important' thing going on which works for Wanda the alien in host but Bella is supposed to be human.

the series doesn't get better ether, it concludes with a lets all be friends, every things okay anticlimactic discussion on the battle field.

Ignore the hype and skip the sub-par crowd pleasing introduction go try one of the decent books 'further down the rabbit hole'

The characters in other books of the genre have so much more depth more detail more humanity I feel sorry for those who like this and have not read something better as even the books closest to it in quality tower over it and yet it is inexplicably popular.

that one star I gave it is one star to much.... aaaand queue the hate mail

2.0 out of 5 stars well... this is Familiar, 5 May 2009
This review is from: Stray (MIRA) (Paperback)
far far to similar to Kelley Armstrong's Bitten (2001) and Whilst It is not quite a carbon copy. Kelley's werewolves have been replaced by remarkably similar Werecats, the pack is now the pride, The mutts are now the strays. This is actually insulting don't get this without reading Bitten but if you Liked bitten (as I did) and want more of the same then go for it - it is a longer book and well written at that.

she is good author just needs something original, watch this space just not this series.
