Autoglym 325ml Car Glass Polish
Autoglym 325ml Car Glass Polish
Offered by Autoshop Bury
Price: £7.95

5.0 out of 5 stars Deep cleaning, 7 Feb. 2016
Like most of the Autoglym range, this product works very well when used properly. For most regular cleaning of glass I would recommend an alcohol based cleaner, like Autoglym Fast Glass, or F-JAS glass cleaner. This product is for more heavily soiled windows, and as an abrasive polish will result in a much deeper clean, able to remove previous applications of rain repellent and deep down grease. It will not remove scratches.

Rub in with circular motions and just keep going until the polish goes clear, then buff with a clean microfibre. Easy to use and does leave the glass spotless. Easy to avoid streaks too. This does take more time and effort than Fast Glass though.

Great for exterior glass especially if very dirty. This cannot be used on acrylic or if you have had your windows vinyl tinted as it would scratch the surface.

Highly recommend.

Made in the United Kingdom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, 5 Feb. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have tried just about every glass cleaner that can be found. Most will result in clean windows at the end of the day, but some are quicker than others, or easier. This cleaner is alcohol based. This is like the window cleaner by F-JAS (although that costs more) and means that this cleaner is very streak free and fast drying. You do not need to buff this with a dry cloth to really get a streak-free finish, you can see the wet streaks just vanish before your eyes, the alcohol doing what it does.

It also means you have a little less working time too, so you can't spray and wait a minute before wiping off. No horrible ammonia smell and effort required.

Definitely one of the best glass cleaners out there.

Made in the United Kingdom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap, effective carpet cleaning, 5 Feb. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This Sebo Duo P is a damp powder that contains detergent and is lightly scented. It will clean your carpets, soak up the stains and when completely dry lifts them away when vacuum cleaned. Sprinkle on your carpet, rub in with a brush, leave 30 - 60 minutes and vacuum up. Your carpet is clean and fresh, stains removed and dust mites killed.

Works surprisingly well. I have used this on cream car mats with pretty significant staining and with a little work with a scrubbing brush, they come up a treat.

Get the Daisy brush at least for doing full rooms. This is an adjustable manual brush with wheels for easy scrubbing, which grinds in the powder with ease. I found one from a UK company called "natural and clean" (no affiliation) which is cheaper than the Sebo branded Daisy brush but appears to be identical. The other option is to buy the Sebo Duo machine, which is an electric scrubbing machine. No doubt much more effective than manually working it in and worth considering if you have a lot of carpets to clean.

This powder is quicker, easier and safer than using a wet carpet cleaner. Good stuff. Consider the vacuum cleaner you are using to clean up afterwards though. A suction only machine will not be good enough. You need a rotating carpet brush on your vacuum cleaner to remove the powder, ideally one with an electrically powered brush. I used a Miele U1 which works a treat. Most Sebo machines too will do the job very well.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not waste your money, 22 Dec. 2015
Try any light from 4Sevens, Armytek, Eagletac, Fenix, Jetbeam, Klarus, Nitecore, Olight, Peak, Thrunite, Wolf Eyes, Zebralight and many others and you will realise just how unnecessarily large, heavy, poorly anodised and dim Maglites are. If you want a budget option then think about Solarforce or many other budget options like them.

Basically, all of the manufacturers listed above, and many others make a range of lights that are:

Use higher grade, thicker Aluminium
Use a range of more efficient batteries (lithium-ion, AAA, AA, 18650 etc)
Have HA-III hard anodizing (Mag is type II, so will scratch up easily)
Have longer runtimes
Have regulated output
Have metal reflectors (Mag use plastic)
Have glass lenses (Mag use plastic, they scratch easily)
Have neater beams (Mag beam looks a bit wonky)
Have a host of modes, including SOS, strobe etc (No modes with this thing, just on and off!)

There are other problems I found with all my D cell maglites too. The rubber boot cover that is over the button WILL come off and get lost, it is just a matter of time. The threads are not great and are not square cut. The light is not waterproof, so the lens can easily fog up and if submerged will let in water.

The use of Alkaline batteries means you cannot leave the cells in the light when in storage, as they will leak and ruin the torch. D cell re-chargeable batteries and charger are very hard to come by now, so you have little option.

"But wait, there are lots of good reviews on here all 5 stars, so why should I believe you?" I hear you ask. Well, don't. Try a Google search and find out for yourself what else is out there before you spend your hard-earned on a Maglite. The update to LED instead of old incandescent bulbs came far too late and is just a lazy effort. This is the same old Maglite with little or no design thought to LED use. There is no heat sinking between the LED and body and the focus feature is as badly done as ever.

I wasted years using them, because I did not know any better. I am a serving Police Officer and have a lot of experience in using Maglites in actual duty, as well as many modern alternatives. Very few Police officers carry Maglites anymore, for good reason.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little tool, 22 Dec. 2015
Everyone who has any interest in DIY, knives, tools or gadgets should own one of these!

I own quite a few knives and tools, many costing several hundred pounds. Many with better materials, batter names, better functionality, but this is still one of my all-time favourites.

There is not an abundance of tools like some Leatherman's or larger models of SAK's, but this makes it so much more pocket-able. It has just about all you need 95% of the time with:

* Large blade & saw covering most cutting needs
* Two sizes of screwdrivers, can & bottle openers
* Reamer for many things
* That little notch for stripping wires (very handy)

The metal scales make this stand out in the crowd of Swiss Army Knives. It looks and feels far better because of it. Stronger and will not get scratched and scuffed up like the plastic handled models.

There is an included lanyard ring for attaching to your keys etc. Tools are sharp and solid, as we have all come to expect from Victorinox. Slim enough to be in your pocket, socially acceptable enough to actually produce it just about anywhere in the UK, and it has a little blank plate on it should you wish to have it engraved as a gift (Google this, some sellers offer this for free)

At twenty quid there really is nothing to think about. Get one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good rollers..., 20 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Check the size of the roll before you buy just any old lint roller. These ones are huge and contain more than 3 times the length of others I have seen for sale. They may seem expensive but these ones actually work. The adhesive can pick up large threads with no hassle. perforations are easy to tear when the time comes.

Work well and if you buy the three pack commonly sold you get pretty good value and a long life. These are made in Poland, not China and from a known and trusted manufacturer and are worth paying for in my experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Canon have done it again, 20 Dec. 2015
I have owned both the mkI version of this lens and the 400mm f/5.6 prime, both of which are great lenses in their own right. This latest lens from Canon takes the best parts of those two lenses and combines them along with some new features to make one of the best, most versatile lenses that exists today.

This lens is as sharp as the prime, as compact as the first zoom and crucially for me has a very close minimum focus distance of less than 1 metre (a problem with the prime). It also has a newer, more effective version of I.S., weather sealing, rotating zoom mechanism, truly solid build quality and fast, accurate auto focus. Other minor design improvements exist too such as a centre-pinch cap, sliding hood door and a tripod collar with removable foot.

The images from this lens so far in my experience are equivalent to the 400mm f/5.6 prime lens. You can get more shots with this lens due to the I.S. The image quality is noticeably better than the now rather old mkI version, which is to be expected.

This lens can not only focus very close to a subject but the focus also works quickly and effectively, as we now expect from Canon. It seems to focus as quickly as the 400 prime as far as I can tell. I have used this lens on both a 5D mkIII and a 7D mkII and it works great on both.

Downsides? Well it is expensive, heavy and the aperture is smaller than we would all like. It is however very versatile with the ability to shoot some landscapes, portraits, slow-shutter shots, near-macro performance, wildlife, astronomy, zoos, kids running around, it just goes on and on. Being able to take just one lens and rarely miss a shot is worth a lot to me. I wouldn't often put up with the hassle of changing lenses when out and about and this lens means you don’t have to.

I have owned and used premium 70-200mm f/2.8 lenses before too and while those are great for lower light scenarios, if you do not NEED that low light performance then this lens just does more. You will pretty much never miss the 70-100mm range but will notice the ability to go from 200mm all the way to 400mm!

Without exaggerating, this lens alone is pretty much good enough to convince me to be a Canon system user. If you need this kind of lens, you probably need to be shooting Canon. Nikon, Sony, Pentax, Tamron and Sigma versions or equivalents are all worse in some measurable way, most of them not nearly as good.

A great all-rounder with very few downsides. Highly recommended.

Bird Feeder Garden Wall Bracket
Bird Feeder Garden Wall Bracket

5.0 out of 5 stars Very handy!, 30 Nov. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Bird Feeder Garden Wall Bracket
This bracket is solid metal, dark green coloured and has two holes for fixing, which accept 4mm screws etc. What is not clear from the description is that it also comes with a clear plastic insert, that fits into the vertical post and has a thread to screw into the base of your feeder. I don't know if this is a standard size of thread for feeders but it does screw into my Jacobi Jayne metal feeder, which was a nice plus.

I much prefer this set-up as the feeder is up higher and unlike when hanging, it does not swing about. This makes it less likely to get knocked off by wind, pigeons, squirrels and the like and make viewing the birds so much nicer.

it does also have a lop which you could hang a feeder or something, if you wish.

Simple, effective and does the job. Recommended.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, 17 Nov. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These look and feel fine and work as expected. Not a lot can be said about them really, no errors and they are pretty consistent in colour. They are expensive though. Osram long-life incandescent bulbs are about £2.18 per pair and those last a long time, making this £15 pair pretty hard to justify cost-wise.

The biggest disappointment for me though was to find these are made in CHINA. Not good enough Osram, people like me buy this brand because it has high QC and is made in Germany.

BTW, the £2.18 ones are made in Germany. I will stick to those for now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Looks great, works well and is FAST!, 8 Nov. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought for a 7 year old niece, instant hit and many hours of fun was the result. This toy is large, looks great and is very fast. The character leans over as you turn, just like the games which is a nice touch. So far it has stood up well to being driven off kerbs, picked up by Mario's head, the exhausts and generally smashed full force into many solid objects.

This has a real advantage over many other remote control cars in that the controller uses 2 x AA batteries and the car is powered by a lithium-ion pack which charges from the mains. This means more driving time and less charging time.

It is faster than you think and the controls are as simple as can be. Pairing initially took seconds and it has presented no problems or annoyances so far.

I was concerned before buying that it may need a very flat surface to work on as the ride height is pretty low but was relieved to see it work on short grass (although not ideal) and on a typical UK road that is less than smooth and flat. It would go faster and have better traction though on a nicer, smoother surface of course.

I would say unless you have a very large home or indoor space then it is definitely an outdoor only toy. Aside from being large and fast the turning circle is pretty big. I have uploaded a picture with some every day items to give you an idea of size.

Overall I would definitely recommend, despite the slightly higher cost over many models, this one is a winner.
