Classic record with classic tunes (especially Hurry on Sundown/Mirror of Illusion/Seeing it as You Really Are) from a classic band, re-released in limited edition gatefold sleeve, very tidy, excellent in every way, shape and form.

The record has no sleeve, or paperwork indicating it is limited, no individual number, so more may be pressed than stated in product information and you'll probably see information of this through the years when it is still accessible. All in all, it may look pretty, but is worthless to a collector.

Firstly, nothing wrong with the sellers service, packaging, or whatever, so I've given excellent feedback. The problem comes with how genuine these Beatles/Elvis/Dylan coloured vinyl releases are?. It may state on Amazon, 'Limited Edition'/1000 copies, but these records aren't numbered individually, or carry any packaging/paperwork stating 'Limited Edition', so they are worthless with regard to being a product that will accrue in value, and because they aren't numbered thousands more may be pressed?

Short and brief. I guess I shouldn't have been suprised at how good this was, even on the first listen, as these are ex HW members and polished performers in their own right. It's a pretty tight album and they deserve five stars for this one, I was impressed. Enough Said.

1.0 out of 5 stars Tinny, Minamilist Laptop Nonsense, 14 July 2012
This review is from: Space Ibiza (MP3 Download)
All I can say about this and some of the other Modern Dance MP3 downloads on offer is 'what exactly happened to dance music'? Ok, I buy a lot of dance cd's that relate to a certain period of dance culture, Paul Van Dyk, Tony De Vit, Boy George, etc, then Amazon seem to think I'd be interested in some of these tinny, minamilist creations. Sorry, if it ain't bangin', or fails to send shivers down my spine, then it's not for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb Movie., 4 Jun. 2012
This review is from: Iron Sky [DVD] (DVD)
What I hate about Hollywood is it's need to rewrite history to suit an American audience, it chooses to portray an adversary as being weak in comparison to the might of the US, which is rarely the case. This is often the rule of thumb where the German Military Machine is concerned, historically it informs us that it was well oiled, battle hardened, well trained, a formidable foe with advanced equipment and tactics, but Hollywood would have us believe different, plus they usually throw in the point that they were all damn Nazi's. Iron Skies is different, tongue firmly in cheek all the way, the effects are good even though it's low budget, it's amusing, and sure it takes the mickey out of the Nazi's, but it takes the mickey out of everybody else as well and demonstrates what a fickle race we all are in a very delightful way. I liked it, five stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Trance at its best, 9 May 2011
A trance classic whose weaving synths and heavy riffs are honored in many trance/hard dance classics of the 90's and onwards. Like much of HW's 70's output this is way ahead of its time and will still sound as relevant decades from now. A truly visionary album, enough said.

I'm not going to elaborate too much as regards this recent release, other Hawkwind fans have already contributed very worthy reviews so I just want to tell it as it is, brief and to the point.

I bought both CD releases as I've always tried to be very supportive of the band in every little way I can, they deserve it. Apart from having to practically fight to open the box on the double disc issue, the packaging/art is top notch, full marks there.

I was slightly disappointed with the studio effort at first...but wait for it, it's a real grower and I think they have delivered with this and rediscovered their vigour, just give it a chance. Personal favourite has to be 'Comfy Chair', it's got Dave Brock written all over it and has that acoustic/hot electronic feel that dominates earlier classics like 'Space is Deep'/'Demented Man'/We took the wrong step years ago', builds beautifully. 'Wraith' is a real stomper, it has that traditional 'Magnu'/'Angels of Death' kick in the guts feel about it.

It's the 'Live' disc that really has balls and doesn't let up enough to allow the listener to take a breath, it's outstanding, I was in awe the first time I listened to this, it really blew me away. I'd like to say the drive here washes over you, but it's more like being flattened by a steamroller, they actually play with the hard enthusiasm of a band far far younger.

It's a bloody good buy, fab in every way, ten out of ten.
