1.0 out of 5 stars Half of the LEDs failed after 6 weeks - look elsewhere, 11 Jan. 2017
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
All was fine with the light for the first few weeks inside a dry garage with low use. However a couple of days ago, half of the LEDs failed so the light is very dim. While it was working normally it was fine, but no use if it fails after a short time. Dread to think about this outdoors in wide temperature ranges and moisture.

Recommend look elsewhere.

3.0 out of 5 stars Budget priced, but would be easier to use if the manual up to date, 6 Oct. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Purchased a unit running V1.19 to wirelessly link an office to a BT home hub V6 20 metres away.

Bad points first. The manual online and in the box or so old they are worthless. Construction is a bit plastic-ey, but this not an expensive device. The UI to get into inrastructure mode could be easier to use. In essence to link the unit to an existing WPA2 home hub, you need to exactly match the target SSID and then exactly match the security method used and key. The documentation is very confusing on this. Having tried the other two bridging modes, failed to get to work, but will retry and see what the magic is. Not tried as an access point, but others have not had problems.

Positives - cheap and the receiver/antenna fairly sensitive as the survey rebealed more other SSIDs than the home hub itself.

Edimax could do the right thing and update the manual to match the firmware, and offer the older firmwares.

The next thing is to see how long it lasts and the reliability of the network link.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for tracking your fitness performance - step accuracy could be better, 18 Jun. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The saying goes you cannot improve unless you measure your performance.

This review is for a blue/large FitBit Blaze. This tracker has a pleasing screen and the UI is ok to use. On arrival (via Amazon Prime), the packaging is good quality and feels that it has been thought about. On opening, the tracker is curled up into a slot and has a plastic protector.

The charger is in a separate box but disappointing that there is no manual. The advice is a piece of paper saying go to FitBit.com. Hmmm - feel that we should at least try to give a quick start guide in the box.

On use you have to first upgrade the software on the watch and to do that you have to install an app and sync via bluetooth. This takes about 10 minutes and you can't do that until you register online with FitBit. Shame there is no offline acitivation, and bear in mind your data is stored on servers in the US.

Once you get synchronised and with a profile, the tracker is fairly easy to use and responds reasonably well to swipe and touch.

It takes a couple of days to get used to it, but is not that intrusive despite the size.

All in all a good device, but the reason for losing a star is that the accuracy of steps can be easily duped by driving a car and the motion sensors think your arm is swaying rather than turning a steering wheel. Also the lack of offline use and having to give your data to a company outside your own country (UK in this case).

Will be back in a few weeks with an update, but as said at the start, you can't improve if you don't measure!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good power strip and charges Apple devices as well, 13 Feb. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Allows for all devices to be turned off at one go.

Just watch out that some devices could cover the USB port if they are "'tall" (the unit plugged into the strip has part of it well above the earth pin). It could be impvorved by moving the USB ports to one end away from the 13A sockets.

That all said, a good power strip and charges Apple devices as well.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great picture, but some sound integration issues and a poor manual, 10 Feb. 2016
This TV replaced an older 37 inch Panasonic variant that alas due to licensing issues no longer would play YouTube videos. That TV was fine, it's just that Panasonic didn't pay the codec license to continue. Poor show really.

The picture is fabulous, but there are a number of niggles, which is disappointing given the price point.

This TV does support various applications through a FreePlay interface using Firefox. It is easy-ish to use but does have an annoying Netflix button on the handset just above the centre OK button (which is a bit easy to keep pressing when navigating menus).

It supports audio to a sound system via the HDMI2 port (threre are three), but you need an HDMI 1.4 or higher cable (not documented).

The manual is poor in my opinion as many features you have to go and find and does not advise it's better to download the manual from Panasonic. For exmple, if you have an Apple IOS device and you use a YouTube app, it can actually bring up that video onthe TV. Alas not documented in the manual.

The built in audio is poor and you will need an exteral sound bar. This is the same on other ultra thin TVs so is a generic issue.

Having bought a Panasonic sound box it was found to have a 200 millisecond delay between the audio and picture (over HDMI). If you live in Ireland, there is a feature to delay the audio (according to the manual). But if you live in the UK, that option is not available (why?). After several evenings and no joy on online forums for an answer, a full factory reset of the TV with the Panasonic sound box connected did reduce the delay to something managable. After the reset, oddly the sound settings were unchanged but it operated better.

I like Panasonic stuff, but am left wondering to buy in future. Sort the manual out and sound integration - it's not hard.

The rating is for the TV picture which is very good, which is just as well. The reduction is that it was far from plug and play.
