3.0 out of 5 stars Good idea, needs to work for longer, 4 Sept. 2011
We bought this for our newborn and in the middle of the night it's a godsend - for the five minutes it works! I understand the advantage of prolonging battery life, but it would be so useful to be able to switch off the "five minute shutdown time". We ended up being more awake and jittery as a result of waiting to lean over and knock the machine to set it off again so he didn't wake up!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely phenomenal!, 2 Feb. 2011

I've always loved Buddy Guy - even in his slightly cheesy "lounge blues" incarnation. I was blown away by his Sweet Tea album when it came out a few years ago and, although I didn't think Skin Deep was great, I still enjoyed it. This new album sits right up there with his best work - the guitar playing is fresh and exciting, the arrangements are full and strong, and Buddy's voice, albeit a little croakier than once it was, is still as full of passion as ever.

Spalding Gray is mesmerising in this follow-up to the brilliant "Swimming to Cambodia". The combination of his performance with the subtle use of lighting and music makes for a piece which, while occasionally unsettling, is compelling and hilarious throughout.

Bought this for my girlfriend. Couple of good songs, then ropey-sounding lift music for the rest of the album.
