Surprised to get a request to review. The copy I received was returned. Certain pages were unreadable due to poor printing and therefore unfit for purpose. Not the fault of distributors, Fault lies in the manufacture which is not revealed unless opened and the pages turned.

Needs to be performed and seen. A sensitive exploration of a perception of the English character. Quietly dramatic. Perceptive and potentially moving with a disturbing dramatically ironic surprise.

5.0 out of 5 stars masterpiece, 3 Mar. 2014

One of the great 20th century plays. Universal themes of poverty and nationalism, and ways in which the innocent and non-combatant get mortally caught in the cross fire of insurgent and resistant fighting. Superb evocation of time and place and fundamentals of the human condition which remain relevant. An original and highly seminal piece of work - should be read, and experienced in action. The writing and the engaging contradictory characters, where the women have greater understanding of actualities, whereas the men find succour in gambling, alcohol and 'the cause', are realisations of fundamental truths.

5.0 out of 5 stars swaggering, 14 Aug. 2010

It's the first time I've heard Flogging Molly, less relaxed than The Pogues but as musical and play with greater energy. Bet they're great live, in concert. Great recording. The tracks have you bouncing off the ceiling. Highly recommended. The best Irish Rock Band ever.
