5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful patterns, 28 April 2012

I have recently bought this book and couldnt wait to get started, I have knitted the bag on the front cover as well as 3 other items in the book and all have turned out as stunning as the book showed. They were all easy to knit despite looking complicated in the photos. I used my own colours and have used Rowan dk cotton in my versions though I am sure that lots of dk wool would be just as good. Look at the length of yarn in each ball described and try to find a yarn of equal length and after a tension square you should be able to find a suitable substitute yarn but hey if you want to produce high quality items then use high quality wool, you'll spend lots of enjoyable hours knitting the patterns from this book so you will want to hand them over as heirlooms as they are so beautiful. In the meantime enjoy this book, the pictures alone are worth the cost of the book!

The Knitted Odd-bod Bunch: 35 Unique and Quirky Knitted Creatures

4.0 out of 5 stars full of character, 23 May 2011

I bought this book after buying Tig from the Donna Wilson website and wanted to recreate him for myself so bought the book. The knitted version is much bigger than the original but is every bit as characterful and is a perfect likeness so is a very good pattern and easy to recreate. My only faults with the book is that there are too many patterns knitted in the round as I have not used 4 pins for many years but hope to overcome this by knitting them on circular needles (an added expense if you do not already own them). There were also a couple of small mistakes on the instructions but easy to overcome if you are a regular knitter. All in all a good book which I would recommend to anyone who wanted to create Donna's designs for themselves.

5.0 out of 5 stars More Blankets and Throws: 100 Stylish New Squares To Knit, 30 Sept. 2010

This book if full of new ideas and inspiration. The beads are listed in the order you thread onto your wool to knit a particular square making it quicker and easier to get started.
Found the square adding one row of colour very useful as it saves breaking off and joining wool on endless rows. All in all a good book and a must have if you already own the first book "Blankets and Throws to knit".
