5.0 out of 5 stars Best Chord Book Ever, 29 Oct. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
One of the best chord books I've come across. Loads of chords and info for the recommended retail price but if you can get it at bargain prices of under a fiver even better. Can't see how I would need another chord book however long I play and improve with the guitar. It shows chord positions by picture and chord box. It also shows below the box each note name and also shows these notes and scale position on a staff. Basically all the info you would ever need.
The book may be a little large for some but I prefer it as nothings crammed in and it will still fit in most guitar bags. All the images are black and white, nothing in colour but I don't mind that at all and if it keeps the cost of the book down then all the better.
Overall I found it fantastic value for the £4.25 delivered I paid.
A totally brilliant book.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK in Parts, 29 Oct. 2015

The book is good in some areas but a little confusing in others. I wouldn't recommend it as a book for a beginner as you do need some knowledge to understand some parts.
It's fine naming boxes a Albert King and BB King but a mention of the name other use those particular boxes would be useful as a beginner would find it hard to cross reference to other books.
The 1,4 &5 boxes are as per other books except for the added notes.
Also it adds some extra notes to the boxes but these are different to the one's other usually add. I found this OK but again may confuse some.
It also would have been useful to show at least the Root note in the boxes and maybe some of the others would have been a bonus.
I would have also found it useful if a couple of pages would have been given to how the boxes moved one to the other ie all the boxes on one fretboard in one key.
Also it's OK knowing the shapes etc but like most of the books in this genre it doesn't explain enough when and how to use them, ie with which chords etc
It was for all the above I could only rate it a 3 star.
All in all an OK reference book in a handy size to keep in the guitar bag but don't expect to understand it quickly if you're a beginner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than some better known names, 3 Jun. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Easy to use and checked it against a calibrated one and it's pretty close. Much better than the Goodyear one's I had at the same time which were totally useless, all four of them. They went back I'm keeping this and ordered another while the price was good. Only possible slight downside was the time taken from far east but the 10 days didn't bother me personally.

Easy to use, cheap and do what they are supposed to. Can't ask for any more. Defeats the object of car makers bothering to have the need for them really. If you can get the tools this easy and cheap why do they bother?

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant value, 3 Jun. 2015
Brilliant value at the normal price of around £440 at the reduced price of £373 delivered even better as long as you get a good one.
What I men by this is not so much the sound which I found to be good on all the one's I tried but more the finish.
Unfortunately the quality control of the first one I had was terrible. It was supposed to be a brand new item but had numerous faults with the finish.
Contacted the seller who was a proper retail music shop and was told Epiphone can be like that. I wasn't having that and insisted they exchange or refund and told them the clue's in the name Masterbilt.
They exchanged it and the next one was near enough perfect even the box looked proper and the guitar had that new guitar smell you get on acoustics.
I'm only knocking one star off as it's early days and a solid wood guitar will improve in time but it does sound fine to me now and I feel the decoration around the sound hole could be nicer and slightly higher quality on a guitar such as this but of course that's individual opinion some like the less bling the better.
Some others give nicer decoration and inlays and I feel epiphone could have done another variation for little cost.
I had the natural and the colours a lot nicer than it looks in the picture so I suggest if buying online for the best prices check out the colours in the flesh as it were.
The set up was first class and it had been set with the new plex system which should mean consistent turnout from the factory. The onboard tuner is accurate when checked against another and also serves as a mute when connecting the amp.
It sounded really good unplugged but when plugged in it was even better.
I'm not overlly experienced with what makes a guitar good or not but I find it easy to play. Overall very happy with it and to get a full solid wood guitar for this price and the electrics have free 5 years guarantee with the maker.

1.0 out of 5 stars Looks OK But Works Rubbish, 13 April 2015
Bought 2 of these at the same time. Expected them to be decent as they carried the Goodyear name. They look good but are a bit bigger than expected.
But for the purpose their intended for:
One holds the reading when removed off the wheel and one doesn't. The accuracy is terrible on one and 6psi out on the other, which is still not that good.
So in conclusion looks good so gave 1 star but works rubbish.
They should not be allowed to sell items as inaccurate as this. Mine are going back depending if the return postage makes it worthwhile.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not The Best, 24 Mar. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book is really quite good in places but adds confusion in others.
I expected a CD with it but this issue does not come with one.
The early part of the book explains things very simply but the circle of fifths page for instance is totally different to all the other books I've seen and this adds confusion, its as if the image has been printed the wrong way round.
The section on moveable blues scales only shows part of the scale and only three patterns.
The section on DFA roadmap is quite good but contradicts some other books so again confuses.
Overall its ok at the right price but is not totally recommended as didn't cover some things in enough detail.
I'll try the one specific for the Blues guitar in the series and see what that's like.

3.0 out of 5 stars SONY CAN'T MAKE ENOUGH MONEY, 20 Dec. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Just received this to give as an Xmas present. Very disappointed it needs a micro usb cable to charge it and they don't include one.
This means of course more cost on an already expensive item. Surely a company such as Sony could include one in the price.
Checked the advert on Amazon after getting it and it doesn't say it has one included I just wrongly assumed it would. It's not making a point that it doesn't have one it's just not in the box contents list which could have been an omission in print.

Also even though the controller is supposed to be Jet Black and says so on the box it looks navy blue in the box. I hope it's a tint in the plastic package. I can't open it to check as it's a gift. Anybody else noticed this?

This review is to make other customers to be aware if you don't have a cable already you will need one or a charging station. Allow for the extra cost, don't be caught out like I was.
Shame on you Sony for not including a usb and Amazon not making it clearer it doesn't have one.
SHAME ON YOU
