Pokemon Go! Beanie/Woolly Hat. Red. Childrens - One Size Fits All.
Pokemon Go! Beanie/Woolly Hat. Red. Childrens - One Size Fits All.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cheap transfer, not a sown-on figure., 24 Dec. 2016

The hat is fine. The Pokémon figure is a cheap, paper thin transfer which ripped as soon as even slightly stretched. Was expecting a sown-on patch. Looks really crap. Avoid.

The cape is extremely narrow - doesn't close at the front - fits my 4yr old across the chest, but it's meant for an adult!! It has marks and stains on the hood and cloak. Cheap material. Avoid.

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointed, 19 Aug. 2008
This game looks and sounds great but is dull to play. The locations are nice, as is the art work, and the voice acting isn't that bad. However, the few puzzles in the game are not logical - they just involve random clicking - and they're far too easy. The game is totally linear, which makes it feel unimaginative. How the characters reach their conclusions is unclear and a lot of the plot (which had some interesting ideas) is just unexplained nonsense. The interface could be slicker and, although there's a fair bit of searching to do, there is no satisfaction in the results. It's also really short.
I think this game was rushed out around the time of the Da Vinci Code etc. A pity, as it could have been much more fun...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great game, 15 Aug. 2008
Having played other games by creator Jonathan Boakes, I was looking forward to playing The Lost Crown. I was not disappointed.

The good - What makes Boakes' games special is the beautiful attention to detail. The locations in the game, many of them actual places on the Cornish coast, are stunning. As always, the sound effects are awesome and help create a sinister mood throughout. The story is compelling and mysterious and I preferred having a character to move around/interact with than the 1st person vantage point in Darkfall (although, that was more scary). Good fun gadgets to play with and spooky characters kept me entertained for hours.

The Bad - moving from place to place is a little tiresome - no 'jump- straight-to' function such as a map. Dialogue cannot be skipped so phrases tend to be repeated, which is a bit annoying. Also, there could have been more puzzles in the game and less 'research'. The voice acting is a bit ropey at times but I've heard worse.

Overall, though, I was totally immersed in the story and the village of Saxton. Not as scary as Darkfall but thorougly satisfying. Let's have another...

4.0 out of 5 stars Spine-tingled!, 24 July 2006
The point-and-click adventure genre is forever in danger. So many games are obsessed with shoot-em-up, gore-fested banality, obvious puzzles and a weak storyline.

Darkfall proves that there is still much to offer in this particular genre. Atmosphere is the key to this game. It is terrifying in parts. Ghostly sounds, cryptic clues and spectoral guides surround you. Along with being visually impressive - amazing artwork from ancient to Art Deco - it is sinister in its delivery, as well as challenging. The puzzles are complex but logical, none of this 'well, how does that make sense?' gameplay. There is the need to record findings as you go and I would warn the more faint-hearted game-player to play this game in the hours of daylight. But, hey, I still got spooked.

Darkfall provides hours of sinister entertainment, an intriuging mystery and the most chilling audio effects I have experienced. If you favour the sort of game where you fear what is behind the next door, then play this game.
