5.0 out of 5 stars A pleasant surprise, 4 Mar. 2010
This review is from: Oversteps (Audio CD)
I have just listened to this for the first time and was very impressed. I sort of lost my way with autechre around confield and Draft 7.30 and this is the first time I have bought an album from them since!! I just felt the music went too far off the radar and I just did not enjoy listening to it, it was more of a chore!! But on first listen this sounds a great album, some thoughtful structure, melody and rhythm in a warp/autechre kind of way, yeah there is still a bit of mayhem etc.. but it is good mayhem, not the sort that makes you want to turn it off, the beats are very broken in parts but do not sound out of place and there are also beatless tracks that have some lush synths and basslines, for anyone like myself that didn't enjoy confield and Draft this will be a welcome surprise and this could turn out to be a very memorable album. Ilanders is my standout track, absolutely mental with a haunting synthline in the background!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars stick with wii sports, 30 April 2008
This review is from: Game Party (Wii) (Video Game)
this game is rubbish. it is very hard to control, the quiz is about a lot of american sports, most of the games are boring and you have no real control over what you are doing and why!! you can tell it is american, they call the treble on the darts game triple!!! nothing wrong with it being american though apart from the quiz..

5.0 out of 5 stars spell checker please, 24 Oct. 2007
it is actually called temple of transparent balls, not bells! Classic electronica from the pioneers, this is on soma i think? The original was on the GPR imprint which produced some extraordinary releases in the early nineties.

5.0 out of 5 stars intruiging.., 7 Oct. 2004
This review is from: Prebuild (Audio CD)
a great slice of history for acid house fans.... some tracks are low and a little bit erratic, but newbuild was the same... There are actually some really good tracks that would not be out of place on newbuild. it is quite hard to imagine this stuff was being made in manchester in 1987, true pioneers, if you like this go for the father album newbuild and also the 2 stakker releases on rephlex, acid heaven!! the tik and tok album is really good too...
