No wonder he was angry, 23 July 2007
I have never really had a particular view on Alastair Campbell either positive or negative but felt this would probably be an interesting read. I wasn't disappointed; it's a fascinating portrait of life inside Number 10. His description of the events leading up to and following David Kelly's death prompted me to read the Hutton Report to check the facts. I know that Campbell may have taken the Gordon Ramsay approach to media management but he is a basically honest (if a little harsh!) man who was libelled by the BBC and to my knowledge they still haven't apologised. The list of people that like and respect Alastair Campbell is too varied and impressive to discount and having read the book I can see the attraction.
