1.0 out of 5 stars Looking for a good bumper case??? Better Look Elsewhere I'm Afraid, 23 July 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Not many aluminium bumper cases for Honor 4x out there so took a gamble on this one. Its ok as a whole. Looks decent and does its job as a case. Only worries with it is the back side of it.

If you look at the bottom picture the gold accent on the aluminium bumper is actually aluminium. Now the pic showing the back of it with the camera cut out holes the gold accents there are this flexy cheap looking plastic painted gold fixed to a plastic panel with questionable "genuine" leather (feels more like that TPU stuff).

Now with the back being the locking mechanism as well, since you align the ridges inside then slide it out top to bottom, put your phone in then slide the panel back up. You can see this being a problem being made of plastic not solid metal aluminium. If it ever falls from height and the impact is enough to snap the plastic ridges. All that's left to protect your phone is the solid aluminium side bumpers leaving the back exposed. Front screen as well obviously but a 9H tempered glass screen protector will suffice since the Honor 4X doesn't come with Corning Gorilla Glass.

Also one important note: You cannot access the charging port with ANY micro USB cable (well none I've tried and I own 6 of the bleeding things) because the opening isn't big enough. It took some DIY filing with some metal DIY files to sand away the excess metal in order to actually plug a charging cable in. Someone seriously made a boo boo in designing this case. How'd it get past Q & A I don't know!

So in conclusion if you don't mind the back panel being shoddy quality compared to the side bumpers and have sturdy grip on phone at all times and don't mind some DIY metal working to get the charging port functional then please go ahead and purchase one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pure style no substance. Overpriced, Overhyped and Overly underwhelming chopping board set., 1 Mar. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Overpriced cheaply made product. Sure it has some nice features like:

A) Compact storage
B) Colour coded boards
C) Non slip feet
D) attractive design

Yet it all has this cheap feeling quality about it. For instance the boards themselves aren't really that large (for a Large advertised product) and not that big a step up from the much cheaper normal sized board model. Plus like many others have said they scratch easily thus becoming a hive for microbacteria etc.

Secondly the photos/videos picture the housing as if it were made from tough stainless steel/aluminium but it is in fact made from a cheap plastic that resembles toy plastics that gives under strain. If you were to grab this set in the middle with thumb and fingers to relocate somewhere else the housing bends in and for a price tag of £45 (Jan 2015) coupled with the easily scarred boards this is a slap in the face. Its worth in real life use is somewhere in the £14.99 - £20.00 region not £45.

If you are any kind of chef and not some once a week weekend warrior cook I'd say to you to "go look elsewhere". There are better board sets out there and trust me when I say that forgoing the looks/design of this set in search of a better performing/actually up to par set would be better for your kitchen, your wallet and culinary peace of mind.

1.0 out of 5 stars Give me Physical over Digital anyday!!! If you're going to push digital make sure it bloody damn well works!!!, 10 Feb. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
PURE TRASH!!! The picture is the boxed physical version and I received the Digital Download version. Guess what? Yup it refuses to damn install on the first screen. Even though I input the code word for word, number for number. Physical over Digital anyday!

It's a right palaver as well. You have to create a Mcafee account and scroll down to your sub box. Find your item and download an installer exe file. Once that's done you run it. Accept the ToS. Input your login details. Input your special serial number the website gives you and input your code. Now if it crashes which it has for me over 20 times you HAVE to re-download the installer exe and go through the whole process again.....what a pain in the ass. So Convoluted!!!

I bought this as I had McAfee Total Protection 2014 (physical disc version) and had zero problems with it. Loved it in fact worked like a charm for a year. If I had known this version wasn't fit for purpose I'd have stayed away. Don't think I'd touch another McAfee product again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome light show in the palm of your hands, 7 Mar. 2014

This review is from: Atomus HD (App)
Really fun and engrossing app. I like that it doesn't hold your hand with tutorials. It just lets you explore and experiment with the particle effects. One finger, two, three or full on five finger movements with different pressures applied gives way to way more fun than what it should be. Brilliant colours and calming music both enrich the experience. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast, reliable, tiny and all for a decent price., 16 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I can't vouch for the USB 3.0 performance but here is my view on USB 2.0 performance using WIN 7 with a 2.4 ghz processor:

1) Using two seperate 700mb files I got 19.2-20 mb write speeds and 29-32 mb read speeds. A full 10mb faster than the patriot xt speedboost model I upgraded from. Similar times from a 1.6gb file too that I tested.

2) The size is pretty small. It shaved 25% off the length of the patriot xt speedboost model. The cap is held on by friction so make sure to wipe it clean from dust and grime from time to time and it should stay on pretty solidly.

3) For around the £20-£30 price range you can't go wrong with this flash drive. I was considering the Kingston DTSE9H for £15.99 until I saw reviews about the horrible sub-5mb write speeds. Also the HPv210w for £20 but thought i'd pay extra for the speed this one provides. I heard good stuff about Supertalent drives but all I checked paled in comparison to Patriot drives size for size and for price ranges.

In conclusion it's an absolute fantastic drive for the price. Yes it is more expensive than other drives around the same size but its really worth the extra £££ for the quality and speed/performance it delivers. From the other review about the USB 3.0 performance I can't wait to utilise it when I finally do upgrade to USB 3.0.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Delightful addition to the Nintendo Family, 10 Dec. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've gotta say, this new iteration of the 3DS is nothing short of beautiful! I've been a Nintendo DS/DSL user for a long time now and didn't really care for the original 3DS. So why buy one now you might ask?

Firstly the design is more ergonomic/curvy and really fits your hands like a glove. The bigger screens really bring to life any game you are playing be it a 3DS cartridge or a DSL game. Sadly due to a bigger screen the speakers had to have a downsize/downgrade and aren't as loud as original 3DS. I really love the screens though! Such a step up from the NDS.

Secondly The hardware features such as the 3D slider have a lockdown postion now so no more accidental turning on of the 3D during use. Also the HOME,SELECT,START buttons are now easier to press/use. Lastly the stylus is positioned nicely to the right just like the NDS which I like. Left handers on the other hand might be livid. Also the battery life has now increased twofold! 3-6 hours 3DS games or 6-10 hours DS games which is crucial in a portable gaming device imo.

So why 4 out of 5 despite the glowing review. Well the device is now a tad heftier in weight due to the supersize treatment. As such it can get heavy to hold in place whilst gaming or watching video but especially when utilising the 3D. Also the weight might be bad for ppl with arthritis in the wrists. The sweetspot is now more lenient but any significant movement either by your hands or by your face means a blurring of the image and this is distressing for your eyes and may cause headaches in some ppl.

Also the exclusion of a second circle pad by Nintendo on a gaming device is a slight letdown. There is no excuse not to include one now that the real estate usable on the device has increased dramatically. Additionally I am livid at the exclusion of an AC Adapter! You have to buy one seperately if you want to continue using this device. Loses a star because of this.

So with all that the conclusion is that if you are still using a DS Phat or DS Lite like I was then there's no better time to upgrade (Dec 2012) Amazon have a £20 price drop from July 2012 PLUS Nintendo are giving away a free game until JAN 2013 so savings of around ~£50, Capital!!! Original 3DS users on the otherhand have a tougher choice. Do you want to spend more £££ for a bigger screen and longer battery life? Only you can decide, i'm just glad I waited this long for a semi decent deal.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Stars for Performance/Quality 1 Star for Seperate Buying Option, 10 Dec. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Like Title says. 5 Stars for really good product with all important British CE mark, Correct voltage (4.6V)and ampage (900mA)output, 6ft(190cm) cable. Nothing like those sub-par adapters you can buy off ebay with the wrong ampage outputs and very short cables and dubious quality. 1 Star for Nintendo not including one with the console in the first place (what were they thinking!) and probably gonna get flak for this but 1 Star for Amazon for not stepping up to the plate and including one in the bundle options anyway en gratis. (Yeah they a business etc Not their responsibility etc) So what!!! You buy a TV you get a power cable. You buy a pair of shoes you get a pair of laces. You buy winter coat you get a zipper and buttons. You'd be livid too if you bought any of the three examples above and got this treatment of pure customer neglect and abandonment.

5.0 out of 5 stars HORI: The Brand You Can Trust!, 10 Dec. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've used HORI screen protectors all the time for: PSP/DS/NDS/Vita and now 3DS XL. True they are more expensive but i've only ever needed 1 set for each console and thats a testament to their longevity and quality. The material they are made from have just the right elasticity and toughness for your presses to register on the 3ds touchscreen. A lot of ppl say the instructions are sub-par and I do agree to an extent;long time users like me find it a doddle whereas newbies will definitely struggle.

1a) Align the topscreen protector and peel away the yellow tabs to temporarily secure to the console. Now TRIPLE CHECK everything fits, no dust/hair in the way and is aligned. Mistakes are hard to rectify and you will end up with air pockets.
1b) Pull the loose tab laterally whilst applying pressure with the card scraper to ensure a flawless fit. Extra pair hands help here.
1c) Peel away top layer to reveal the finished thing. Check to see everything perfect before doing this.

2a) Do the same for bottom protector as in step 1a. Harder to align due to the opaque blue plastic but doable.
2b) Do the same for bottom protector as in step 1b.
2c) Do the same for bottom protector as in step 1c.

Thats it all done and dusted and will protect your expensive device from scratches if you are responsible and not a destructive 4 yr old.

2.0 out of 5 stars A flawed silicone case., 22 Feb. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I wanted this silicone case to be so awesome because it was shaped like a grip attachment which is ergonomic to hold. This set it apart from the rest of them on Amazon.

There are some problems with it though:

1) There is no cut out at the back for the Vita's rear touch panel. Which means you are going to have to cut one out yourself which is a right pain believe me!

2) The pointy hand bits are not rigid enough to hold the Vita in one hand and say use your other hand to maipulate the rear touch panel or take a sip from your cuppa. The case will want to pull away from the Vita leaving it hanging precariously loose from whichever side you are gripping it. Very Dodgy indeed!

3)The circle cut out for the front camera is off target and blocks the view. You'd be better off making a semi circle cut yourself to make the camera lens visible. The cutouts for speakers aren't wide enough. Therefore limiting the Vita's not so powerful speakers even further.

4) The Silicone casing actually impedes the analog sticks range of rotation. You will constantly find your thumb hitting the rubber before you can rotate the stick. It's annoying when precision is needed in a heated firefight.

So all in all it does its job as a silicone case so 2 stars but at the cost of so many oversights. I mean you basically have to D.I.Y this before its even useable which is a joke. Then the items strongest selling point (the grips) let you down, on top of that it impedes the movement range of the Vita's strongest selling point (the analog sticks).

I'd have sent it back but I already cut out the back to utilise the rear touch panel on my Vita. Look elsewhere friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Screen Protectors!!!, 22 Feb. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These are the same quality screen protectors as the Branded ones like Hori, Snakebyte etc. These are better than most since you get three sets (front and back) plus they are FULL BODY screen protectors and not just a rectangle touch screen one. They also keep grubby fingerprints from the Vita's shiny gloss finish which is a bonus. They are a two step application=which is you peel the back one off first to prime it onto your vita, then you peel off the top layer leaving a very thin one ply layer of awesome protection.

Mine came with a slight curve to them but DO NOT WORRY they will set flush against the vita once applied. Do not attempt to bend them the other way to make them flat before application.

These come HIGHLY RECOMMENDED :) Trust Me.
