Love on the Menu: Sensual Recipes to Spice Up Your Romantic Evenings
Love on the Menu: Sensual Recipes to Spice Up Your Romantic Evenings
by Linda Arsenault
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and delicious!, 9 May 2011
If you are looking for a fun, romantic, tongue-in-cheek book to share with a special someone, this is it. This sensual cookbook, complete with erotic poetry, includes a variety of recipes, ranging from delicious dishes to cocktails and even bubble baths and massage oils. It's all you need for that romantic evening at home. The photography of the models and food is extremely well done, with just the right hint of naughtiness. The food and wine pairings are a welcome addition to the recipes. We tried the Sweet Little Sins of Halibut along with the recommended wine and it was a big success. The accompanying vanilla peach compote could easily be served as a dessert! So good, we made this recipe twice in one month.
A highly original concept, the book will definitely have a few tongues wagging... in more ways than one!

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful culinary voyage, 19 April 2008
As someone who is Portuguese it's hard not to be taken away to the cake shops and restaurants of Portugal whilst flicking through the pages of this book. This book feels, tastes and smells like Portugal. The recipes are all authentic and each new page brings with it a new set of directions for making mouthwatering traditional Portuguese cuisine. From seafood to the addictive pasteis de nata, Tessa Kiros has created a book filled with beautiful photographs and enticing and easy to make recipes. This book introduces you to the warm and friendly nature that is Portugal and the culture of its people. Live to eat! Don't eat to live.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Work of Art!, 26 Feb. 2006
I was at this show, as well as several other Whitesnake shows over the past few years, and all I can say is that this DVD and the band's performance is flawless. I am a big Whitesnake fan but I am not blinded by the hype! So from a reviewer who was actually at the show and who has watched the DVD many times over, I can say that I am in the position to review this DVD... and it is simply a work of art! The band's overall performance is energetic and keeps the viewers interest throughout. David belts the hell out of his songs and if you watch closely, you can see how David exercises his art... his voice is his instrument and he knows how to use it. He has never been one to go through the motions and puts 110% in every single show. He has a wonderful rapport with the audience. The director did cut out most of his exchanges with the audience but that is to keep with the momentum of the concert. Personally, I think the insertion of audience members is just perfect. There are shots of all kinds of people... but the point is... they are all rocking to the show! I think the insertion of the black and white grainy effect is artistic and makes it visually interesting. All the effects and edits make this a very professional DVD of the highest quality. Doug Aldrich has the perfect guitar sound for Whitesnake. His performances are a treat for the eyes and ears. I particularly liked the close-up shots of Timothy Drury on keyboards. You really get to appreciate his talent and see what an integral part of the Whitesnake sound he is... on vocals and keyboards. Marco Mendoza was the perfect bassist for Whitesnake. The man is immensely talented (I know because I've also seen him perform in other bands and with his Latin Funk trio in LA). When Marco sings Burn with David, they are in perfect harmony. He has just the right look and sexiness for Whitesnake! I strongly recommend this DVD to anyone... this is not just for the die-hard Whitesnake fans. Anyone who likes to listen to good rock and watch energetic performances will soon be a Whitesnake convert and will consider the DVD part of their best music collection.
