5.0 out of 5 stars Would definitely recommend., 9 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
After reading about the difference between an adapter and a converter in /r/mechanicalkeyboards, I decided that this was just what I needed to use an old mechanical keyboard with a non-PS/2 desktop.
It works absolutely perfectly - my PS/2 keyboard is now USB plug and play. I read that some of the cheaper converters have issues with non-US keyboard layouts. This converter does not suffer from those problems.
Would definitely recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great cooling and virtually silent, 2 Dec. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Extremely quiet, even with overclocking.
This is actually an upgrade to an AIO watercooler (cheaper but better - go figure) which I had previously on my gaming rig. It's virtually silent under load and still manages to keep my CPU at a max of 62°C after 30 minute prime95 run with lowest adaptive fan speed option set in BIOS. It idles around 30°C. You could run this with a much steeper curve (providing that your BIOS supports it) and keep your temps even lower if you want.
As everyone else is saying though - this thing is HUGE! Make sure that it's going to fit in your case before you buy. Mine is in a Zalman Z11 and, if it wasn't for the convex case window, it probably wouldn't have fit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great - highly recommended for use with XBMC, 4 Nov. 2014
I have this connected between my TV and a PC running XBMC on Windows 7. Driver installation was easy enough and it pretty much just showed up in XBMC and worked.
There is an ever-so-slight delay between pressing buttons on the TV remote and the corresponding action happening in XBMC. I don't get the same lag when using my Android and Yatse to control XBMC over the network but, without additional testing, it would be impossible to say if the lag came from the TV or the Pulse Eight adaptor. It really is hardly noticeable though so don't be put off.
Probably my favourite feature is The extra power management possibilities. With the Pulse Eight, XBMC can switch the TV off when it's idle, and can be configured to suspend the PC when the TV is switched off.
When I give my parents an XBMC box for Christmas, they will definitely be getting a Pulse Eight to go with it!

Works OK the first few times but gets less sticky after each rinse.

These work surprisingly well. I get 2-3ms latency across the house, but it's stable with no spikes and no drops.

4.0 out of 5 stars Look great, but no PWM and no rubber mounts, 2 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
These fans only have a 3-pin connector (.e.g. no PWM control). Make sure that your board will can control fans by voltage before buying. Some boards (Gigabyte!) might only support voltage control on one or two of the fan headers so you may need to buy splitter cables or a dedicated fan controller if you don't want these fans running at 100% all the time.

They do look very nice but lack the rubberised mounting holes that the non-LED versions of the fans have. You can buy some rubber fan mounting pins fairly cheap though instead.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly good for the money, 2 Nov. 2014

These look great although the backing tape is a little weak. You might need to get creative with cable ties to hold them in place.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very effective but a bit pricey, 2 Nov. 2014
Very effective but a bit pricey. Try searching for "rubber fan mounting pins" or "ultra-soft fan mounts" instead!

1.0 out of 5 stars Very noisy. LED does it's own thing, 2 Nov. 2014
Cooling is definitely better than a stock Intel heatsink and fan, but it's noisy, even when idling at 800 RPM. I have an i5 3470 which is slightly overvolted and overclocked to 4.05 Ghz which runs Prime95 at 54°C with the Antec watercooler fan running at ~1250 RPM. At this speed, the fan noise is very annoying and is much louder than any air cooler. As a test, I ran four Corsair SP120 fans at 1250 RPM and they were MUCH quieter than the Antec Kuhler. The fan is integral to the water pump and reservoir assembly so it is not possible to replace it with a better one.

The radiator mounts to the case using small screws which don't go right the way through the rad. This is a shame as it means you can't use soft rubber mounts to reduce vibration and noise. Rubber washers should work but you'd need to get longer screw to attach it to your case.

The LED is usually white but sometimes changes to blue or pink. This doesn't seem to be directly related to CPU temperature or fan speed (checked both with Open Hardware Monitor - the same temp sometimes produces a white LED,sometimes deep blue, sometimes even pink). This is a little bit irritating if you have any other white LEDs in your machine as they won't match up.

I've had the Kuhler 650 for about a month now and will be replacing it shortly with something quieter. Don't buy this - save up for a Corsair H100i instead. Two fans = lower RPM for same cooling = quieter system.

3.0 out of 5 stars Lower read/write speeds than stated on Adata's website. Cheap though!, 2 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The read/write speeds that you'll find on Adata's website are for the SP600 series as a whole which is just downright misleading. This particular model comes in nowhere near those specs.

The actual read/write speeds from the product box for the 32GB model are 220MB/s read and only 35MB/s (I haven't missed a digit, it's really 35) write, so you will definitely want to bear this in mind prior to purchasing. That said, the product is very well priced and performs much better than a mechanical disk, given that there's pretty much zero seek time.

You would definitely struggle to install Windows on this disk and keep it under 32 GB, but it I've got plenty of space when using it with OpenELEC (a thin Linux with XBMC), and bootup performance is significantly better than when I used a mechanical disk in the same machine with the same OS.
