DTH are one of those bands that when they get it right, they get it so right, and this album is a must for anyone who likes tuneful punk.
Yes, it is possibly a lot more mellow than some of their previous efforts, but after a couple of listens, it's already started to grow on me.
Wie Viele Jahre has to be one of the best tunes ever, and is typical of all that is good about them.
What makes this so good though is the bonus cd 2nd instalment of their excellent Learning English album, which is surely worthy of a release on its own.
Instead of just covering classic punk tunes in their own way, they collaborate with at least one member of the original band on each of the songs they cover, and it makes for a brilliant listen.
Iconic punk stars such as Jello, Mensi, Segs and Bob Geldof amongst many others chip in to help DTH cover an excellent collection of some of the best punk tunes ever.
There's a trailer of the album on YouTube which gives a great insight into the recording process, so check that out if you need convincing.
Unfortunately, we here in the UK don't seem to appreciate the band so much, possibly because they sing mainly in German, but please check them out, as they are one of the finest bands you'll ever hear.
Get over the fact that you may not understand the language because this band are too good to keep on ignoring.

5.0 out of 5 stars Melodic and powerful with it, 19 Sept. 2016
As a die hard punk rocker, Volbeat would never have come on my radar, as the first reviewer stated, if they hadn't been shown on tv at Donnington. Their last album was brilliant, and this one is right up there with it. Sorry I'm not so clued up on the band members, but their singer has a style I've never heard before...powerful and melodic...and the musicians really deliver as well.
If you like your music with a lot of punch, you could do a lot worse than check out Volbeat.

I can't recommend Stephen Leather highly enough. His stories will have you gripped from start to finish.
Check out his book The Chinaman, or if you just want to get an idea if his style, the short story The Basement, is a cheap way to get into his books.

4.0 out of 5 stars Top band, top production, fine album, 16 Sept. 2016
This review is from: Music Must Destroy (Audio CD)
On first listen, the new Ruts DC album left me a bit disappointed.
As a fan from the early Ruts days, maybe I expected a Babylon's Burning or a West One amongst the songs, but after their Animal Now and Rhythm Collision albums, maybe I was always aiming too high.
I think even the most diehards fans would struggle to realise that this is a Ruts DC album, and Segs' vocals in particular sound very different to his normal style.
I was quite dismissive, but a few mates urged me to stick with it and it would grow on me, and I have to say they were right.
One of the finest productions ever showcases a new harder edge to a band that have long since been the best musicians on the scene.
I think if Malcolm had still been with us, this would be the natural direction they would possibly have gone in, with musical aggression definitely coming to the fore.
The first 2 tracks, Psychic Attack and Music Must Destroy rightly earn top billing, and although the album does wane slightly, there are flashes of brilliance in there.
Second Hand Child and Kill The Pain are excellent, and if I had to find a negative, it would possibly be the inclusion of the 2 weaker tracks, Tears On Fire and Golden Boy, so no real shock to see them in the last 3 of the running order.
All in all, it is an album well worth buying, and they still remain one if the best bands to see play live.
I think Malcolm, RIP, will be looking down with a sense of pride of a job well done.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure quality in every detail, 20 Aug. 2016

I thought long and hard about forking out a good chunk of my hard earned for this, but after receiving it, I'm so glad I did.
It oozes quality in every single detail, from the singles themselves, through to the actual box it comes in.
The 16 page booklet inside is absolutely brilliant and well written.
As a long time Subs fan, I already own the original singles, but they are now all picture discs, and very collectable.
Lately, the Subs have been putting out some nice stuff, but nothing comes anywhere near how perfect this is.
I have seen it listed for over £100 in places by some chancers, but have a look around and you can find it a lot cheaper.....I paid just over £50 for mine.
An ideal purchase for yourself, or if you know someone into their early punk, it would make a superb present.
