I enjoyed the book very much. It was as always with this writer a well developed plot with believable characters and certainly readable .

I have been reading the Poldark novels in sequence and this book even surpasses the previous writings. The book is superbly readable and totally convincing drawing the reader deep;y into the writers world. Yes I found this book unputdownable. Mike C.

I am still reading this book aloud to my wife who is partially sighted. The book along with the others in the Poldark series is in part a history of Cornwall and my wife being Cornish truly enjoys the readings. It is superbly written and it carries an authentic ring to it. Michael Collins.

I started to read this book probably some 50 years ago when I found it in a bookcase in a house that I was working in at the time. Although I returned to that house several times I was unable to continue reading it. I never forgot this book and I am really quite pleased to be able to finally get to read it. It was worth the wait. Mike Collins
