A superb App of the day. Spend just 6 hours straight on this little brain teaser and you too can develop mind powers on a par with Professor X.
A top class fun and sexy app.

If you're looking at all these mixed reviews for Infinite Jest, then I would already guess that most of you have read or heard something or someone testifying to the Genius of David Foster Wallace and you may have some initial fears or reservations about diverting a good two months to such a massive novel as Infinite Jest.
Well.

1. IJ is very readable. Yes there are words used you will not be familiar with but don't be put off, I didn't bother with a dictionary for explanations and I don't think you should if you don't want to either! All pretty much gets explained further along in the context of the novel.

2. Dave Eggars' introduction should be taken with a pinch of salt. IJ is far from being a perfect book.

3. Be prepared to have a lot of fun, and do read those 'dreaded' end-notes. They are very important to the story.

I had a great time reading IJ and want everyone who has the inclination to try the same should just dive on in. Once you're past the 300 page mark it's all smooth sailing I assure you.

A vastly improved edition of Pynchon's classic, with much improved page layout and bigger text. This 902 page edition is superior to the previous Vintage editions.
Also, I can't be the only one who hates those Yuko Kondo/Pocko cover illustrations that currently deface every other TP paperback?
