A fascinating Insight into the Catholic church in Ireland., 19 Oct. 2014
Not the type of thing I normally read.
The story, told through the eyes of a Catholic priest starts when he is a young boy in the 1960's right up to the present. He considers himself a good man and is appalled by the actions of colleagues who's actions have ruined the lives of many people and destroyed the trust and esteem that people had with the priesthood.
Brilliantly written. John Boyne brings each character to life to the point you can hear them talking. I really enjoyed the read. Some parts made me laugh and cry and everything in between.
