1.0 out of 5 stars Totally wrong item delivered., 7 Feb. 2016

I wanted a double quilt set and got a single duvet set. Stupid. I'll get a refund as God only knows what will come as a replacement otherwise.

1.0 out of 5 stars Mismatched socks, 4 Sept. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bought the 4 pairs and 2 of the pairs has significantly mismatched length socks! Maybe someone out there has the other half of each mismatched pair! Would be funny if it weren't so stupid. Serious fail by the seller. How on earth can that happen?

5.0 out of 5 stars InFamous 2, 10 Jun. 2011
This review is from: inFAMOUS 2 (PS3) (Video Game)
Firstly, I'll split this review up into three sections; gameplay, a short story and ambience section and pros/cons. Also, this is a spoiler free review.

Very much like the first game; heavy on the shooting lightning, with decent platforming bits. As before, a good/ evil Cole gain different powers, lending to a different style of play. Tweaks have been added, such as your standard bolts now are now 'homing' to a certain extent, making the game slightly easier. However, the new power such as that of ice and fire really spice the combat up. The new 'amp' melee weapon is cool at first, but soon you realise you are just using a club.
As before, there are side missions; neutral ones, but also Good/Evil side missions. There is more variety to the side missions (thank goodness!), and on top there are random Good/ evil events, such as randomly 'silencing' a street performer. Also, the bosses are better than those of the original, and the scale of the world is much better. Finally, you carry on with your karma from the previous game, and your actions from Empire city are noted throughout. NB The user generated content shows promise, but at the moment very few good levels have been published, but this adds longegivity to the game, like LittleBigPlanet 2's online levels.

The story is as good as the original, starting off with rather annoying destruction of a certain city, but it's replacement, New Marais, is bliss to the eyes and ears. Good and evil are personified by two sidekicks, and you often have to help one or the other. The environments are very varied, lending to sustained interest. Furthermore, the graphics are a vast improvement over the original, if shy of amazing. Does anyone remember Cole sqeaking as he moved in the first? Well, if you do, that's gone too. The soundtrack is up to scratch, when heard (not amazing), but unfortunately Cole's voice actor has changed.

+Better graphics
+Improved Combat-many new moves
+Satisfying platforming
+Better setting (variety)
+Good Story- bring karma over from InFamous

-Different voice actor for Cole
-Melee combat still not great

To summarise, I couldn't recommend this to everyone, but if you played the original, like super hero games or like blowing stuff up, or are interested by anything mentioned above, this game is well worth a try- one of PS3's best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Family Fun, 14 May 2011
This review is from: Wizard Card Game (Toy)
The perfect family fun, with between 3-6 players. Whilst it is a completely new card game, one could say it is vaguely like bridge, and betting on the tricks you will get is always fun. If you can pick new card games up quickly, then this is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Final Fantasy 13... some like it, some don't, 13 Mar. 2010
As many people will know, FF12 was very different from X and that is why it was critised, when in fact Square Enix were trying to evolve FF with the times. However, as it didn't please all the FFX fans, Square went back to the level design of FFX; the way of improving stats is exactly the same as the sphere grid.
There is a novel way of upgrading weapons by introducing a new use for loot; weapon building.
I personally have only a few gripes with the game:
1) No towns that you can shop in
2) A lot more 'guided' than FF12
3) Only control one character in battle
4) At least in the first 30 hours, no way of changing party
This is one of those games that you can only see if you like if you play 15 hours or so. For that reason I would recommend renting before buying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dragon Quest, 27 May 2009
Dragon Quest 8 really is one of those games which you just have to give time. The first few hours might seem pointless, but that's just because you have have no idea what you're doing or what the storyline is. Once you get past SPOILERS recruiting Jessica and Alexandra SPOILERS END, everything begins to make sense and the game really takes off.
The first thing you notice when the game is turned on is the orchestral music that greets your ears. That same music, and others like it through the game, will really stick with you, like it sticks with me after finishing the game 99%.
The game is quite long. Being quite a guick RPG player, I finished everything including the bonus bosses in 90hrs (excluding levelling up to lv99). However, those who like to wonder round and enjoy everything and have a perfect game save are looking at 120hrs of play.
Now comes one of two negatives. When you first start out, the battle system can seem a bit basic, and as you can't buy spells, it might be tricky. However, as you play the game and level up a bit, abilities, spells and the idea of psycing will start to make sense or become available. Also, SPOILERS once you reach the second continent, you get the alchemy pot which allows you to create rare and powerful items SPOILERS END that makes playing more fun.
Now, as for the storyline, at first it's... confusing. After 10hrs, you realise that the evil jester is going evrywhere doing something specific, but until then you're just blindly chasing him. After 30hrs, evrything is understood and the twists are really moving.
Overall, I would say that the game should appeal to RPG fans and someone who has never tried an RPG before and would like to put some effort into trying one and seeing what it is like (after all, that is what I did). It has good replay value and will last a long time. The cel shaded graphics are amazing, especially with an upscaler on the PS3 (second only to Valkyria Chronicles). Once the game is finished, you will wish that you could do it again, for the warm feeling deep down is amazing. This game really is moving and worth the effort.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, 28 Dec. 2008
I thought I might not like this game as a fair amount was supposed to be devoted to drifting... but how wrong I was. The graphics are amazing; you actually feel as if you are racing and get a bit of a rush. You'll be angry when you can't win certain races but will get great satisfaction when you do. If you are lokking for a racing game on the ps3, whether it's for 1 or 2 or more players (to see who can do the best... there is sadly no "multiplayer"), there is even a 24 minute le mans race for fun. A game to get.

5.0 out of 5 stars A really innovitive game, 23 Nov. 2008
To cut to the chase;
1. The game is set in Haven city while you are trying to rescue Jak from prison.
2. Although the story follows a classic J&D approach with set missions to complete, there is one thing to be noticed; the actual ground that is available to be accessed is deceptive. There are red barriers stopping you and you can not get out the city, explore the entire haven, or 'jak' any rides.
3. It is a great game, with amazing psp graphics, and story line that leaps forward at the end. My one gripe is that it has no guns, but it does have a gas cannister with 3 add ons.

To sum up, it is a really good game with dream sequences that could really extend game play. Just don't expext anything identical to J&K 1 and 2.

5.0 out of 5 stars The second best series I have ever known, 19 May 2007
This review is from: Ratchet & Clank (PS2) (Video Game)
The R&C series has kept me entertained for years and yeasr on end. The first game in the series was no exception to the franchises success. Chairman Drek's world is too polluted and he needs to find another suitable world to live on; so he goes out destroying other worlds to get the neccessary parts to make his own. In the robot factories where he is making his minions there is an error and a new robot is made, small and intelligent. Clank races and away and is pursued by guards. Clank crashes on Ratchet's world and pursuades Ratchet to help him find a hero stop Drek.

Later in the game we that Captain Qwark (the hero) is working for Drek and can not help. R&C go on to stop Drek by themselves.

The game is packed ful of fun and extras, suxh as the skins and mini-games. The massive array of weapons is an attribute to the game that would be dearly missed. Some weapons are: the glove of doom, the tesla claw, the taunter, th devastor and the pyrocator.

The second best series ever and this is the second best game in the series, only behing R&C 2. The only series that is better is the original spyro series, which I would recomend; I hope it gives as many happy ours as it gave me!
