5.0 out of 5 stars A trip down Memory Lane of a Moston Child hood, 3 Sept. 2014

This book is written by "a local lad", so when he talks about certain places and streets I can visualise them.

This is a totally gripping book and I hope it is quickly followed by a second.

Well done 'r kid!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best book I have read in a long time 'r kid, 18 Dec. 2013

This review is from: A Northern Life (Kindle Edition)
If you enjoy reading books about real people from real places then this is the book for you. An added bonus is if you come from the same area in North Manchester that the author is writing about.

Follow `r kid, her five sisters and one and only brother "The Chosen One", growing up in working class 1960s and 70s Moston and Collyhurst. Riding the CIS lift and visiting her Dad "at his office". The days when playing with her Nana's button tin was entertainment enough, a far cry from the I want, I want of today.

You can feel the love on every page that the family has as the author tells us of her Mam Joyce, her Dad "who is not from round these parts" Callie, her Nana Flo and Grandad Rob whose favourite subject is "the war".

This book is well worth its price and I for one cannot wait for her next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A nice little case, 12 Oct. 2012

I think less is more sometimes, and this case does just the job.

Really good velcro fastenings that don't look like they will loosen and it fits my Kindle really nicely.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money, 12 Oct. 2012

I do admit that when I ordered it, it wasn't what I thought it was going to be, but there is no way I am paying £13.49 for sticky back plastic!

3.0 out of 5 stars It should come as standard with your Kindle, 14 Sept. 2012

I was a bit surprised when I got it as I thought the picture was just to show you what the plug looked like.

Surely this should come as standard with your Kindle? You get a USB lead so why not this.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great experience for a first time Kindle user, 14 Sept. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I decided that it was time that I joined the 21st Century having heared others talk about their eReader devices.

As I am not a person who spends a lot of money on IT products I decided that for a first time Kindle purchase I would go with the Kindle, 6" E Ink Display, Wi Fi in Black as I didn't want anything too technically challenging.

I ordered it on the Monday 10 September and it arrived on Thursday 13 September. That was ahead of its estimated delivery date of Monday 17 September, and that was with free delivery too.

I had ordered the black Kindle in error, but now I am glad I did as it looks really classy.

As I am not somebody who finds technical things easy, I was a bit worried in connecting the Kindle to the Wi Fi. I did actually have problems with this, but that was nothing to do with Kindle or Amazon that was solely my fault as I was trying to put the wrong password in, but after going onto the Amazon technical support page and going through their excellent step by step instructions for connecting to a BTHomeHub WiFi I was up and running in no time.

I have to say my experience up to now has been great with this product. If you want a Kindle that is just for reading books and nothing else this is first class. If you want a little bit more from your Kindle then go for one of the higher spec Kindle's.

I have already downloaded some books with ease and there are many more on my list.

Happy kindling folks! XXX

5.0 out of 5 stars Washing machine cleaner, 26 Oct. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is our families favourite washing maching cleaner for a number of reasons.

The usual washing machine cleaners on the market are either quite expensive. You have to use with your actual washing and you have to use it every month or all three!

Oust washing machine cleaner is relatively cheap you only use it every 3 - 6 months depending on your water area, and it is used on its own without any washing in the drum.

I can't find another on the market that is as good.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have Film!!, 12 Nov. 2009

Like the others who have reviewed this film. I have waited so long for it to come out on DVD.

This has to be one of the best Christmas films ever made, with a wonderful cast of fine British actors. I first saw it as a child and I have remembered it ever since.

If you only buy one film in these credit crunch days, make it this one. I really can't recommend it highly enough!
