Sambre: Faut-Il Que Nous Mourrions Ensemble?
Sambre: Faut-Il Que Nous Mourrions Ensemble?
by Yslaire
Edition: Album
Price: £10.95

5.0 out of 5 stars Potent imaginery and great storytelling, 10 Oct. 2010
As far as I am aware this graphic novel was not translated to English, pity as this limits significantly the number of potential readers.
The story is set in 19th century France and tells the story of a wealthy family and their decline. You will have your share of doomed love, madness, jealousy and the 1848 Revolution on top.
The drawings are realistic, in a good classic Belgian/French way and support the dark story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Looking for an alternative to Twinnings?, 10 Oct. 2010
I was surprised not only to see Lipton infusions on the Amazon website but also by the price - same or even slightly cheaper than the Lipton infusions in pyramid bags sold in supermarkets plus eligible for the free delivery too!
The Lipton infusions are a great alternative to Twinnings infusions, they are caffeine free, nicely flavoured, can be drunk hot or cold, with or without sugar. Do not add milk!
The Lipton Forest Fruits gives a nice fruity flavour and is one of my personal favourites of the Lipton range. There is not rose hip or hibiscus which tends to dominate the flavour of many fruit infusions on the market, especially supermarket own brands.
I would definitely recommend this product at this price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value for money, 9 Oct. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Good quality sound, comfortable - what else do you need? Also, the length of the cable is perfect for watching movies on your computer from your bed or a comfy bed placed in a good distance from your PC. I mainly use them for that purpose and for Skype and have no complaints whatsoever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark humour à la française, 8 Aug. 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This graphic is in French so is obviously addressed to fluent speakers of French language which I am lucky to be. I recommend this book to the fans of Franquin (the father of Gaston Lagaffe or Spirou) and fans of dark humour and plays with the language. This is a complete edition of the previous short stories published in 1981 and 1984 but the humour itself is timeless. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars "A call, a song, a hymn to life", 8 Aug. 2010

17. Naci En Alamo [Remedios Silva Pisa]

A great ethno/world music/folk album standing on its own : I had it for a couple of years before I have seen Tony Gatlif's movie. Once you have seen the movie, you will probably appreciate some of the tracks more than you have appreciated others (L'Arbre du Duende for instance). This track is a real mixture of influences (a Turkish ney player, an Egyptian Sufi singer, a Greek composer and finally one techno-sort of track sounding a bit like a musical misunderstanding!) with the dominance of flamenco guitars and singing.
A very emotional album, as per Tony Gatlif's note about the movie from the booklet: "Vengo is primarily about that: a call, a song, a hymn to life, to love, to mourning, to blood money. A hymn to the Mediterranean spirit."

8 Femmes
8 Femmes
Price: £58.56

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting soundtrack, 1 Aug. 2010
This review is from: 8 Femmes (Audio CD)
Firstly, the track listing (missing from the product description):

2. Papa T'es Plus Dans L'coup (Ludivine Sagnier) made famous by Sheila
3. Message Personnel (Isabelle Huppert) made famous by Françoise Hardy
4. A Quoi Sert De Vivre Libre (Fanny Ardant) made famous by Nicoletta
5. Mon Amour Mon Ami (Virginie Ledoyen) made famous by Marie Laforet
6. Pour Ne Pas Vivre Seul (Firmine Richard) made famous by Dalida
7. Pile Ou Face (Emmanelle Béart) made famous by Coryne Charby
8. Toi Jamais (Catherine Deneuve) made famous by Sylvie Vartan
9. Il N'y A Pas D'amour Heureux (Danielle Darrieux) made famous by Françoise Hardy

The remaining tracks are the nice score from the film.

I liked it and I would obviously recommend it to all the fans of François Ozon's musical comedy murder-mystery film. I would also recommend it to all the fans of French music, as all the songs sang really nicely here by the performing actresses were once made famous by other French artists (I have listed them above). Worth a try.
