3.0 out of 5 stars A Decent tablet, but as with first-release products, it has a few issues., 13 Nov. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've been useing this tablet for several months now.
The good - the UI, mainly being the taskbar, definitely makes use of the larger screen estate better than other android tablets. Switching between apps is a lot quicker and easier. The ability to use two apps at once is also nice and works pretty smoothly most of the time. Being able to watch something on Youtube while looking at your twitter feed or having a webpage open is great, made even better when you can resize each window how you see fit, and the processor holds up well when doing so. The build quality is also pretty good for the price.

The bad - Keyboard is passable and for short burst typing (like searching for stuff) it'll suffice. But I wouldn't type essays or reams of pages with it. Trackpad isn't great either. The screen resolution is good enough but you can still notice the pixels and jagged edges around icons if you look close enough. Over time, I have noticed screen burn-in when switching from an app on display for a while. Also, there is an issue of light bleed in the top left corner of my model which was not there when I first received the device. The processor inside has held up for the most part but it doesn't hold many apps in memory which means when switching between apps, they would reload, ironic for a device that highlights itself as such. Finally, the dimensions of the device make it something difficult to use even in both hands. Not only is it very large compared to most similar sized tablets, but its also quite weighty, making it hard to use in two hands, let alone in one. This means unless I'm in an environment where I can place the tablet down, I tend not to reach out for it knowing how difficult it is to handle for long periods. Last but not least, there is a rear facing camera. That's all that needs to be said about that.

I've purchased this product once before. If you want straighten out curly hair, this will do the job. However, bare in mind, it does leave a hard, almost plastic feeling to your hair if you use finger-swipe amount.

2.0 out of 5 stars Decent sound. Poor noise isolation, 15 Feb. 2014

Couldn't block out background noise for the life of it. Sound quality is decent but not amazing. Dirt cheap so worth a buy as maybe a disposable pair of buds for emergencies.

2.0 out of 5 stars Doen't do Anything, 15 Feb. 2014

It has slight waterproof protection but it increased the amount of visible smudges and fingerprints hugely. Found myself wiping my screen more often.

The fit is nice but your hands wont be protected from the cold. After washing it twice, the touch tip wore off and wasnt able to use my phone with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Comfortable but a pain to put on, 15 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The material is quality and feels very comfortable but it takes longer than I'd like to put it on. Normal trainers, my feet would slip in easily but with this I have have to loosen three/four of the laces to be able to slip in to them. This is probably because its a high top.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Great, 15 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Fit is perfect. Blocks out noise very well, and that's with half the maximum volume. The design and build is also very well made. Doesn't feel cheap at all. The sound quality itself is great. I'm not an audiophile or expert, but I found they produced great sound, whatever music I listened to. A small bonus was that it has a mic and play/pause button, which I didn't expect it to have.
I would highly recommend this in this price range.

Samsung Galaxy S Plus Sim Free Mobile Phone - Black

4.0 out of 5 stars Great phone....almost perfect, 26 Dec. 2011
To start off with the delivery, i got this from prepaymania. i was a bit nervous from ordering from them as i have heard bad things in the past but the phone arrived in time and in good packaging. Onto the phone, I will give a summary and then go in depth.

========
Summary
========

the samsung galaxy s plus is a great phone and is great value for its price (£250 at the time of purchase). The phone is fast thanks to the 1.4ghz processor and the super AMOLED screen makes everything look great. Memory is very generous with 1.3gb internal memory and 5gb internal sd storage. it also has external sd support upto 32gb.
There are a few problems however. Mainly the RAM. Although the specs say 512mb, only 358 mb is available to use meaning that more often than not, the phone will lag as you start multitasking. Intensive applications (like 3d games) will stutter, hurting the overall experience. This has also led to the phone re-starting several times. This is especially fustrating when you're in the middle of using an app.
The camera has no flash and is only 5 megapixels so dont expect great pictures.

========
Hardware
========

The phones comes with 1.4ghz processor. This keeps most applications running buttery smooth. Homescreen browsing, messaging, social sites and internet browsing are smooth and pleasant experiences.
The phones weirdly has a worser (not by much) graphics chip than the old galaxy so graphics heavy applications will run less smoothly. This is not helped by the low RAM. the actual RAM available is 358mb. This is the biggest disadvantage and my main problem with the phone. Multitasking will slow the phone down causing it to lag and sometimes even reboot. Having access to 512mb of RAM would've defintiely have improved this and remove the aforementioned problems.
The phone comes with a 1650mA battery. While I wasnt blown away, it will get you through a full days use of videos, music, gaming anad internet browsing.
The phone supports full adobe flash so videos on websites can be viewed.

=======
Design
======
The phone comes in a slim package and exactly identical to the original samsung galaxy s, except the google logo on the back. The phone is very light and comfortable to hold.
It has a super AMOLED screen which is beautiful and crisp making watching videos and playing games a joy.

==========
Multimedia
==========
The samsung galaxy s plus playsback Divx, avi and most of the popular video formats at 30fps. Videos are great to watch and dont suffer any frame rate drop.
The camera is average at best. It has no flash which is odd since the lower priced samsung galaxy w does have flash. This means the pictures from the already standard 5 megapixel look satisfactory at the best of conditions. This isnt a deal breaker(unless you specifically wanted a good camera)
Samsung have included some useful apps - namely kies air which allows wireless transfer between phone and computer. Set up is as simple as it can be and very easy to use. It also includes all share which allows you to connect to external devices like your TV and speakers wirelessly.

**One thing to note is that the samsung galaxy s plus is highly unlikely to get the android 4.0 (ice-cream sandwich) update due to low RAM and other requirements that are not met. This is a massive problem as the phone has only been out 6-7 months and is already getting out of date.
I would recommend this phone if you want a phone to last a year before moving on but if you want a long-term phone that lasts more than a year, i would suggest getting a better spec phone.
