Nature, Man and Woman (Vintage)
Nature, Man and Woman (Vintage)
by Alan W. Watts
Edition: Paperback
Price: £11.54

5.0 out of 5 stars Watts at his most poetic!, 5 July 2014

In this book watts completely 'presences' nature to his mind (thus to ours), he doesn't re-present it. This book was his proudest achievement, and rightly so. When he describes the ultimate sexual experience as a melting in to one another, and climaxes the book, he nails just that receptiveness and reciprocalness that is love in its un-grasped form.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not much to say other than these are beastly!, 23 Oct. 2013
I use these in conjunction with the creative Sound Blaster external Sound card (Audiophile DAC). Quite simply for the price these speakers are incredible, any type of music is brought alive and the separation of instruments is more akin to speakers twice or three times this price (remember though I am using a high quality sound card). If your into metal or rock these will probably give you the most attacking sound you've ever heard, and you will hear things you have never heard in your favourite tracks before. For example, Laid to rest by Lamb of God sounds as if it is exploding, and the kick drums are so audible you cannot help but listen to them.

Also, these clarity of cymbals and vocals is staggeringly good, and acoustic guitars sparkle like they are being played right in front of you. There is no need for a sub woofer, these are huge in terms of bass, and I find myself reducing it significantly. Then again I use this on a desktop but if you use them for TV or larger spaces then maybe a sub woofer would be required.

Finally, make sure you turn them down, they have such a good sound, you find yourself listening to music at high volumes close up, slowly but surely your ears are going to get battered... they are worth the battering though so I suppose it is up to you lol.

Quite simply awesome is the final word on these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quite honestly the most sublime album I own, 21 Sept. 2013

The way in which this album is recorded and produced in combination with how purely and naturally the musicians weave their music together makes this album just something else. One of the most captivating albums I have ever bought.

4.0 out of 5 stars This book is not badly written!, 5 Sept. 2013
This book is not Annoying, irritating or badly written as some would have you believe, it is just very fact heavy, and requires you to actually figure out a lot of what he is saying with the numbers and figures he presents, however, if you are a lazy reader, then I guess this book is not for you.

The book bashes the rich because they are the ones who propagate inequality, and no matter how sympathetic you are with their need for yachts, mansions and more profit, you cannot disagree that they are to blame, as they claim they deserve these riches, which leave millions without any, dying or starving in the places they need not see or care about.

This book also links many ideas about population growth, economic growth, social problems and the future. It is very optimistic in that it praises of humanity for its resilience and strength, but never loses sight of our failures. Many will disagree with this book because it steps out of line and has obvious socialist influences, and that is normally to difficult for the un-imaginative to handle and they simply throw the book across the room. However, if you can imagine and are not consumed by irrational fear, you will realise he is correct and no he isn't advocating communism, but a fairer society where we share rather than care only for ourselves.

In conclusion, if you are a mover, or can be moved, the changes represented are not all that radical, merely common human sense, except obviously if you the poor soul who is immovable, and sees change as the end of the earth as you know it, where poor people having a chance is sacrilege.
