5.0 out of 5 stars thinking mans smartphone, 17 May 2012
Purchasing a smartphone that you have to live with for at least the next 2 yrs was not an easy task, especially with the plethora of phone currently available. Advice given was to get the latest / best on the cheapest contract - I honestly didn't think I would get something as good as the Xperia s for about half the price of an iphone4s contract. The 4.3" screen is stunning - making even the most humdrum photos stand out,32gb internal memory, a 1.5ghz dual core processor and the best mp3 player (after tweaking EQ settings - app required) oh and phoning and texting all good. Basically Sony took a look at the competition and outspecced them all. I never thought sony would make something that would be considered to be such good value

5.0 out of 5 stars Start your own cinema, 22 Jun. 2011
A great full featured plasma tv with an awesome picture from bluray or freeview HD which only requires an ariel input. Only 2 HDMI inputs and although it has a LAN input it doesn't have iplayer or the like. The next model up has this for £20 more @ £599 with 4 HDMI inputs.

A super slim frame makes this a less dramatic jump from say a 32" which is what I used to use.

The only thing to watch is Plasma screen burn in the first few months of use- try to avoid any static images (ie games or logos in screen corners) and turn brightness down for first few months.

Conclusions

A steal for such an amazing package

5.0 out of 5 stars simples the best, 16 Nov. 2010
I have had the Flip ultra HD for 6 months now and have to say what a fantastic product it is. Everyone in the family uses it, and my 8 and 11 yr old sons particularly enjoy making their own movies with lego minifigs and Nerf guns also playing lead roles.

I cant say that I have noticed any of the problems of battery charging that most of the negative reviews seem to complain about. I use both computer USB (from an external hub) and ipod usb mains charger when away from pc.

The Flip Ultra HD does exactly what its supposed to do. Make quick and easy video clips and for about £100 that's a bargain, the quality is great on an HD tv, I use a generic HDMI to mini HDMI and it works a charm. Try editing footage on a PS3 which produces amazing results very quickly.

It has become my main fishing camera as you can very easily capture stills from your footage and saves me taking my DSLR, and a big flapping pike or trout somehow looks better than from a stills perspective.

If you are looking for a multitude of features, zoom etc look elsewhere. This is easy to use, so you will find it always in your pocket or handbag. A great pioneering little gadget.

5.0 out of 5 stars only the best will do, 1 Jun. 2005
I got my iPod photo 30GB about ten days after launch and have had a lot of time to play around with it. All I can say is it's a fantastic machine and it has made my car 10 disc autochanger redundant overnight. Excellent for the commute, stick on a playlist and you're away.
I'm particularly impressed with iTunes and the ease with which everything works and as a lifetime windows user, am seriously considering the switch to Mac.
I have noticed no problems with battery life if you follow a few simple principles. Set backlight to 2 or 5 secs (off preferably) and use play lists feature. This minimises the hard drive spinning which is a killer for battery life of any portable device. 15 hrs is easy, I charge it for about three hours once a week and only let it run down completly once a month.
Colour screen is great and you get your album art if you want, just import it while you're ripping your cds. To make it easier to find your photos just organise them into sub folders on your PC and then iTunes replicates this on your iPod.
Only negative is the time it takes to rip music into itunes although this will vary depending on your PC. Still gets 5*

1.0 out of 5 stars this is not "the purpose driven life", 14 Dec. 2004
This is the miniature edition purpose driven life and as such has less than 10% of the value and content of the full unedited text. It should be advertised as such in the title not in the small print. The original book however is exceptional and inspiring for all - 5 stars.
