I've been a huge Doctor Who fan since the show was brought back in 2005 by Russell T. Davies. BBV Productions was a company formed by Bill Baggs who made low budget Doctor Who spin-off films and audio drama CDs. As far as I can see Cyberon is one of their best. The characters were engaging, the story was suspenseful and thrilling, the Cyberons were very menacing and the ending just leaves you with questions. All in all I recommend it to any Doctor Who fan.

It's such a shame BBV never got the recognition they deserved. The best place to find any of their products is on the Galaxy 4 website. Bill Baggs is currently working on another PROBE film in memory of Caroline John who played Liz Shaw at the beginning of Jon Pertwee's era and again in the PROBE films. She unfortunately passed away back in 2012 from cancer.

5.0 out of 5 stars ''It's About Time!'', 14 Mar. 2014
Finally somebody has published a biography of one of the greatest singers/songwriters of all time. Judging from the front cover I will say this was done by a fan, and I don't mean that as a bad thing. The book gives a perfect point of view of Gerry Rafferty's life and music. It's also nice to read about his earlier days with The Humblebums alongside Billy Connolly. There have been many funny stories like one time both Gerry and Billy smoked pages off The Bible when they were drunk.

Rafferty never cared about fame or the celebrity life style, all he ever wanted was respect for his talent and songs. The saddest thing is when Gerry developed alcohol problems in his later years, his death shocked the music world itself. It doesn't bother me if this book was done independently, It just makes it more unique. All in all it's a must have for any Gerry Rafferty fanatics and those who love proper music!

1.0 out of 5 stars ''Where Has the Originality Gone in this World?'', 7 Dec. 2013
Miley Cyrus is just another piece of manufactured garbage, she is now making a right wrecking ball of her life at the moment. The reason why she changed her image completely is because sex sells in the music industry nowadays. If she continues with this stupid act, she'll end up regretting her actions for the rest of her life. People won't be talking about her in 20 years time, she'll be long forgotten by then.

If there's anyone to blame it's the music industry. Back in the day it was about writing creative songs, but now there's far too much greed and corruption going on. All I'm doing is just making a point. Take my advice. Like music that you really want to like, not what gets ran down your throats from the likes of Simon Cowell.

5.0 out of 5 stars ''Billymania is Reborn!'', 19 Oct. 2013
This review is from: Play it Cool [DVD] (DVD)
Finally after all these years Play It Cool Britain's first twist film starring the legendary Billy Fury is going to be released for the first time on DVD. Before Beatlemania was even born Britain was in the grip of Billymania, and this film played a huge part in it. In 1962 a large audience of teenagers flock to their nearest cinema to see the movie, and within the first week it was a box office hit! Sadly the film slipped under the radar over the years, but the fans have never forgotten it. It's been a long wait, but somethings are worth waiting for. Hopefully the film will be remastered so it can shine once again. If your a fan of Billy Fury or rock n' roll this is a must have for your collection!

The Last Revelation of Gla'aki
The Last Revelation of Gla'aki

5.0 out of 5 stars ''Ramsey Campbell is Britain's Stephen King!'', 22 Sept. 2013
Modern horror wouldn't be the same without Ramsey Campbell. He has proofed himself time and time again he can write horror stories like The Nameless, The Doll Who Ate His Mother, The Grin of the Dark and now The Last Revelation of Gla'aki. These stories and many more will be remembered for decades to come.

One of the most interesting things about Ramsey is his strong influence of H.P. Lovecraft. When Ramsey was 7 years old he bought a book collection of Lovecraft's work from a second hand bookstore in his hometown of Liverpool, and from the moment he opened the pages his life changed forever. Ever since he released his first horror novel The Inhabitants of the Lake back in 1964, he continues to scare the daylight out of his fans all over the world.

This review is from: The Orphan (Paperback)
I don't understand why so many people are heavily criticizing Christopher's books, this guy is just simply amazing! He takes something original, and forms it in to something unique. The Orphan is his best novel yet, and I must admit his work is very similar to Stephen Kings. Maybe some people nowadays have forgotten what horror is all about, well shame on them. I'm going to meet Mr. Ransom on October 29th at a book signing in Liverpool. As for all you haters out there, keep on twiddling with your thumbs while I have a night to remember!

I've been a massive fan of Ramsey Campbell for a long time now. I have even met him, and got his signature. After watching The Nameless which is based on Ramsey's novel. I was completely overwhelmed on how mind blowing and horrifying it is. It's such a shame it's not a widely well known horror film, however that does not stop it from being a masterpiece.

Like the novel it focuses on how one woman can be haunted by the death of her daughter, and will do what ever it takes to find out the truth. I once asked Ramsey on what he thought about the film, and he said ''It truly captures the feeling while remaining faithful to my story.'' If your a fan of Ramsey Campbell or horror in general I really recommend buying it!

5.0 out of 5 stars ''A throwback to the 70's and 80's dirty crime films!'', 12 April 2013
This review is from: Broken City [DVD] [2013] (DVD)
They don't make movies like this anymore. Mark Wahlberg plays Billy Taggart a ex-cop who is now a private investigator gets hired by Mayor Hostetler played by Russell Crowe to spy on his wife having an affair, she is portrayed by Catherine Zeta-Jones. But little does Billy know that he is getting into something far more serious, something from the past that will comeback to haunt him. Broken City is a unique film because of it's superb acting, suspenseful script writing and great action sequences makes it worth buying. It will keep you entertained for hours on end and the ending will leave your mind puzzled.

5.0 out of 5 stars ''One of the Most Underrated and Overlooked Films of all Time!'', 4 Nov. 2012
This review is from: Judge Dredd [DVD] [1995] (DVD)
I first discovered this film on DVD in a second hand shop, after watching it I was mind blown. From that point on I started to read the comics. The movie has brilliant spacial effects, awesome plot, great character content and Sylvester Stallone did a fantastic job playing as Judge Dredd. It's such a shame most fans hate this movie Why? Because they believe it doesn't stay true to the comic books, but that's just a matter of opinion. It's a film adaptation you can't expect everything from comics to be in the movie. If you are a true Judge Dredd fan like me I highly recommend buying it!

5.0 out of 5 stars ''A Forgotten Masterpiece'', 16 Oct. 2012
A famous horror author Sutter Cane (Jürgen Prochnow) mysteriously disappears while leaving his fans impatient waiting for his new book. John Trent (Sam Neil) an insurance investigator is hot on the trail to find him. What he finds will make him absolutely mad...

The movie starts off in a mental asylum as John Trent is brought in and locked up for reasons unknown. A while later a physiatrist arrives and meets Trent in his padded cell and starts to unravel Trent's journey into madness. It then jumps into the past where he used to work as an insurance investigator. He was good at his job by being confident and able to see through people lies. The next scene jumps to Trent talking to his boss in a café about his next assignment which is the disappearance of Sutter Cane. From a distance a man walks towards the café holding an axe, he smashes the window, he walks through the broken glass towards Trent and says `'Do you read Sutter Cane?'' He attempts to kill Trent but out of nowhere 2 police men appear and shoot him forcing him to fall backwards out of the window. From that point on it goes into a lot of twists and turns. It jumps to the publishing office were John Trent meets Jackson Harglow and his book editor Linda Styles. It then becomes clear who the axe man was...

Trent starts reading Cane's books in order to understand his background and what he's, all about. By reading the books he uncovers vital information that could change the lines of investigation... He then makes the journey with Lynda to Hobb's End
(the forgotten town) they stayed at a local hotel. They went to investigate a bazaar church (known as the black church) and make a horrifying discovery... At this point the story starts to unravel and there are consequences along the way.

This film will turn your brain upside down and keep you on the edge of your seat! In all my years as a lover of movies I have never seen a horror film with so much mind blowing twists and turns. The film has straight forward acting, in-depth storyline and very realistic practical effects. One thing that makes this film stand out is the influence of H. P. Lovecraft's stories gives him the inspiration to make the film an indescribable horror.

Sam Neil's character John Trent he is arrogant, sophisticated and hip while Jürgen Prochnow as Sutter Cane is very much dark, sinister and dramatic. The main supporting cast are award winning actor Charlton Heston as Jackson Harglow the publisher of Cane's books. And last but not least Julie Carmen as Linda Styles the publisher's top book editor who goes along on John Trent's expedition which will tear their minds apart.

John Carpenter always wanted to tackle with H.P. Lovecraft's work and he succeeded. However at the time in the mid 90's it received mix reviews and it flopped at the box office barely made backs its budget. 17 years later it's now a forgotten masterpiece but I strongly believe the movie would still appeal to contempary audience because most horror films have always been anti-authority.

What shocks me mostly is the film has never had a UK DVD release. Hopefully in its afterlife it will develop a stronger cult following and one day get an official DVD and Blu-ray release. John Carpenter is most well-known for films such as Halloween, The Thing and Escape from New York. This movie is the final instalment of Carpenter's apocalypse trilogy. There are 3 films The Thing (1982), Prince of Darkness (1987) and In the Mouth of Madness (1995).

All in all I have to give John Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness 5/5 stars.
