Dismal. I'm truly amazed that anyone could find anything in this book that common sense or the simplest online guides could provide easily and at no cost. Save your pennies!

Rubbish. Charging problems that GoPro seem reluctant to resolve. Maybe because they can just keep selling replacements. I have now bought three. And now given up. £180 later and nothing to show for it. Quite simply RUBBISH!

I was greatly looking forward to this, but ended up hugely disappointed. Am I missing something? I failed to care about any of the characters and quickly started counting down to the end.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 17 Jan. 2017
This review is from: The Book of Tides (Hardcover)
Disappointing. Far too thin on real content, an over-emphasis on the design rather than communicating the content. It's doubtful that this had a proper edit, far too many basic errors and at times somewhat repetitive.

Colombia a Comedy of Errors
Colombia a Comedy of Errors
by Victoria Kellaway
Edition: Paperback

1.0 out of 5 stars Nonsense, 2 Dec. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
What is this book? It purports to be "anthropological" yet just rolls out stereotype after stereotype without claiming a basis of anything more than "watching people on Bogota buses".

The cartoons are simply childish and not matched by the text, which far from deep, is not of the same reading age level. So who is the book for? Certainty not me!

Equally, the lack of any editorial judgment grates; for example, did the author really mean to say "... three out of five fighters in Simon Bolivar's Spanish-defeating army went on to be black"? What? Drivel!

There are many great books on Colombia. Sorry, but this is not one of them!

Frankly dismal. Why the plaudits for this unoriginal trash? I nearly gave up after 150 pages, but limped through all 650 pages.

Having loved the Nightswimmer may year's back, I thought it time to try another by this little-known (in the UK, at least) author. Sadly, turning his hand to a whodunit for me, at least, really doesn't work.

1.0 out of 5 stars a nasty piece of work, 28 Jun. 2015
A truly woeful book. The arrogance of the writing, the conveniently overlooked facts, the personal bitching. I gave up with just 20 pages left to read; it made me utterly depressed that such a deluded man holds some sway over the readers of a tabloid. If you feel the need to further this man's ego, buy the book....

I note any earlier review is by a certain Gerald Ratner, who praises Desmond as a businessman, this may tell you all you need to know!
