It's cheap, but the instructions aren't that easy to follow and I suspect the designs are not that well worked-out.

5.0 out of 5 stars from a complete beginner, 7 May 2014

Lovely book. The best thing about it is that the instructions are so clear and precise that making up a square from this book is like a 'how to' lesson. I had only just learnt how to make a granny square from the internet when I bought this, had no difficulty following the patterns as the steps are so clearly explained. Unlike another, cheaper, book I had bought! So, so worth it - pretty designs too, and good clear instructions for new stitches, finishing and joining.

Delivered on time in good condition.
This product is completely unglazed as I wanted. I had mistakenly ordered a half-glazed brick which I returned, before getting this one.
It cooks well so far, and is easy to clean. Make sure to read how to use before you wash it for the first time! - no metal scourers.
It is a different method of cooking though and it will take a while for me to get used to it. At the moment the main thing I'm struggling with is how to season the food enough - basically the food steams as well as roasts, so it is healthy but not as tasty as food that is roasted in oil.

I love this book - it's clear, simple and coherent, collects a lot of facts together that would otherwise be hard to find in one place. Intriguing illustrations, tips on maze construction. Fascinating little historical/ anthropological document.
