Disappointed it is Kg rather than in imperial. As a result I had to print off a conversion sheet! Having said that it looks quite good and fits in with the bathroom floor tiles.

The connection cable didn't fit - could have been damaged in transit.
I asked for a replacement but have heard nothing for three weeks.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 7 Jun. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I was looking forward to reading about these Olympics - but sadly this book is huge disappointment! The structure is all over the place and despite the acknowledgements at the beginning there appears to be little research into such a wide subject. For example the background and reasons for choosing the various competitions. There was no information on the timing, locations and schedules nor even a list of the medal winners. It is unforgivable not to include references at the end of the book.

Too much time was spent on a limited number of individuals and towards the end of the book includes two competitors both of which seemed to be irrelevent.

No, this is lazy writing and the author should have tried much harder.

2.0 out of 5 stars Frustrating, 3 May 2012
At first sight it looks comprehensive but I found it difficult to follow. It's American so the wording is frustrating and it assumes far too much. There is no natural progression - it jumps about. O.K. the illustrations and layout is slick but there is little or no correlation with the descriptions.
The most frustrating part is that a text book such as this, which by definition would be opened whilst in use, is tightly bound and keeps wanting to shut itself. Far better to have the binding as a ring folder so it can be opened out whilst in use. So, do I recommend? Not really, although some of the other books on this subject suffer from the same problems as I see it.

4.0 out of 5 stars No unexpected I suppose., 3 Mar. 2012

Impressed by the photo's purchased what I believed to be an amazing bargain, I shouldn't be too disappointed with the result. The flask is very light with the engraving, in consequnce, not very deep. Still, for the price its pretty good value although I felt slightly awkward handing it over as a gift. I made it heavier by filling it with whisky!

2.0 out of 5 stars Simply too much., 3 Feb. 2012
Phew! Doubtless covers all aspects of photoshop but I would hesitate to recommend it.
The contents do not follow a sensible path; jumping ahead too quickly then refering to somewhere else in the contents. There is an element of assumption which is unforgivable in a book such as this. For example there are no critical path diagrams. Reminded me of old science text books from the distant past. The text jumped between p.c. and mac and since the author is American the writing style irritates.
If you have experience in Photoshop and want to get totally involved in every aspect of the programme I suppose it will satisfy. If you are new or want simply learn the basics then avoid this like the plague!
A final small niggle is that the book itself is a soft cover and refuses to stay open easily.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too much, 5 April 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Maybe its me, but the whole set up is confusing and difficult to understand. The manual has to be downloaded which is huge and doesn't explain how to use the programme in easy steps. In any event the manual doesn't seem to be specifically for this version, which adds to the difficulty.
So, frustrating and time consuming. If your thinking about editing simply for, say, holidays then resist buying. There must be simpler software on the market. I shall continue to try to use it but I'm not looking forward to it!

Mea culpa I suppose, in that I didn't read the spec. I expected a movie editing programme whereas this is nothing of the sort.
So, make sure you are aware of it's limitations.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disapointing, 3 Sept. 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As someone who has struggled to learn ritual and, in consequence, had put together a sort of mnemonics of my own invention, I looked forward to the help this book would give me. What a disappointment! It didn't really help at all. For example, it pooled together the degrees rather than keeping them apart which is an absurd approach. It made no use of imagery whoch is an essentila part of any means of learning by wrote. Finally I had to send the book back as it had the pages printed out of order.
