5.0 out of 5 stars top of my top 5 of all time!, 25 Jun. 2007

Every SINGLE shot in this film is like a beautifully composed and lovingly crafted photograph. I defy anyone not to be moved by the cinematography alone, not to mention the beautifully told, heartbreaking story and amazingly understated, and emotionally charged perfomances.

If you feel nothing watching this film, you are not a fan of cinema.

AT LAST!
Its been a long wait, but a sense of relief washes over me when I see the words "The Wedding Present" on the cover of a NEW album!
I thought Cinerama would go on forever more producing albums with only 2 or 3 stand-out tracks, but now we have the "Official" return of Gedge & co with their most mature and creative album since "Seamonsters" nearly 15 years ago.
Admittedly, on first listen I thought "Oh, more Cinerama..." but after a few listens this album truly shines. Every track sits comfortably alongside any Wedding Present song you'd care to mention, and the whole album has a really positive, uplifting atmosphere.
Stand out tracks for me were "Its for you" "interstate 5" and "Ringway to Seatac", and it's great to hear David Gedge back at his emotional, "shouty" best on "Its For You".
In my opinion they will NEVER better 1991's "Seamonsters" - and of course we all live in hope that one day they might - but for now "Take Fountain" can sit proudly amongst all my other Wedding Present albums and hold it's head up high.
Well done Gedge - Its nice to have you back!

5.0 out of 5 stars David Gedge is back at his best ever!, 10 Nov. 2004
This review is from: Interstate 5 (Audio CD)
I have been campaigning for a return of The Wedding Present for years, and along the way have managed to convert friends & family that they really are one of the most underrated bands of the last 20 years. Nearly all of the songs still sound as fresh as the day they were first released - and would easily stand up against any current bands who are considered to represent the "resurgence" of british guitar music.
"Interstate 5" is no exception. At over 6 minutes long you can guarantee that it will recieve very little airplay ( as with all previous Wedding Present / Cinerama releases - apart from the late John Peel who championed both bands right from the start). This is a real shame as the track really is a monster of a tune!
All the gedge trademarks are here - from slow quiet beginnings, steadily through to a blistering finale, all sprinkled with heartbreaking lyrics and spine tingling melodies.
If you've never heard The Wedding Present before then it's time to sit up and take notice! Nowhere else in the british music scene will you hear such perfect pop blended with surging guitars and genius lyrics. Too many bands these days are given the label of "the best british band for years".....the truth is the best has been here all along. Its time for The Wedding Present to show them how its done!
