5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Album, 10 Sept. 2007
This review is from: Merz Reissue (Audio CD)
This really is a great great album and I cant recommend it highly enough for fans of so many genres. It mixes indie, pop, dance, breakbeat, drum and bass even at times and does it so well. Conrad Lambert made a classic when he made this album. Engine Heart is one of my favourite tracks ever. I am so glad they have re-released this album and with an extra CD its an absolute bargain.

Please note however the track line up for this differs from the original, mainly in the sense of track order. However the track CC Concious is not on the first cd, it instead can be found on the second cd that comes with this album. In its place is a track called nutshell. If you are to put this on an mp3 player etc... I would strongly advise adding CC Concious to the main album playlist as its really good.

4.0 out of 5 stars 13 years of flaming marvelous music, 13 Dec. 2005
This collection of Flaming Lips videos showcases how their imaginative songs have been put to equally imaginative videos. Featuring 19 videos in full you get a greatest hits of sorts and a great way to see and hear how they have changed through the 13 years featured.
The bunny costumes and bleeding packs featured in the live gigs are found in many of the videos. There is also band comentary on the videos to describe what they all mean.
Some of the videos look dated now, due to the year they were filmed and lack of budget. This adds to the charm though. More recent videos show off a bigger budget but keep the same quirkyness that makes them all a pleasure to watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the most unsung debuts of the 1990s, 2 Sept. 2005
This review is from: Worst Case Scenario (Audio CD)
'Worst Case Scenario' set out dEUS's stall of fusing modern jazz with leftfield art-rock. As bad as that may sound, it's actually an incredibly innovative album. For all the free-jazz dynamics, warped guitars and John Cale-style strings, the band didn't forget to write some great tunes, as the brilliant 'Hotellounge' proves. It's not a compromising listen, and anyone who views, say, Radiohead as too alternative may wish to avoid it. However, there's no denying the quality of tracks like the blistering psychotic rock of 'Suds & Soda' or the creepy funk of 'W.C.S.'. dEUS put Belgium on the map in musical terms, just after grunge had petered out, and 'Worst Case Scenario' stands as one the rock landmarks of the 1990s.
