A lovely book -- highly recommended, 22 Jun. 2009
Like Nigel Slater's Kitchen Diaries, this is very much a personal view -- and all the better for it. Victoria Moore's evident enthusiasm for her subject, and her mouthwatering descriptions, meant that while I was reading the book I kept having to dash into the kitchen for a fresh mint tea... and then a crisp glass of wine... and then a gin and tonic. The recipes I've tried so far - both for drinks and for nibbley things to serve with them - have been great, and the drink she refers to as her favourite (the "Campari and blood-orange thing") is fast becoming one of my favourites too. I really recommend this book -- a great gift for others, or for you!
