Darwin's Origin of Species... Science or Fantasy?: Evolution Is a Myth. Darwin Admits Evolution Theory Is Not Supported by the Evidence.
Darwin's Origin of Species... Science or Fantasy?: Evolution Is a Myth. Darwin Admits Evolution Theory Is Not Supported by the Evidence.
Price: £3.49

1.0 out of 5 stars Specious nonsense denying the evidence, 30 Sept. 2016
The author is a geologist - not a biologist, anthropologist or an evolutionist - and it shows! There is stacks of evidence for evolution - just read Jerry Coyne's "Evolution is True" or any number of books by Richard Dawkins. Insects such as fruit flies display evolutionary characteristics over relatively short periods but on the Galapagos "Darwin's" finches have displayed evolution over a number of decades. We have whales with rudimentary pelvises and hind limbs (obviously a remnant from their days on land - why would an all-knowing god give them such useless appendages?) WHY do humans have a rudimentary tail appendage (the coccyx - and in fact a small percentage are born with a proper rudimentary tail which has to be surgically removed - an obvious remnant from their ape ancestors: again why would god give them such an unnecessary appendage? Many deep sea creatures who live in total blackness have eyes that are useless - why? Another obvious vestigial remnant. There are very many more such instances but the humdinger is the recurrent laryngeal nerve in mammals which supplies the larynx on both sides. On each side it exits the head then loops down into the chest before looping back up to the larynx - a pretty crazy journey, especially on the left where it has to curl under the major blood vessels for the heart and lungs before looping back up to the larynx. This leaves it very vulnerable to injury. The loopiness of this design flaw is really appreciated in the giraffe with its long neck where the totally unnecessary journey up and down the neck makes the nerve about fourteen feet longer than it needs to be! Either god was having an off day when he designed mammals or a better explanation is that the nerve was caught up in the movement of primitive gills into lungs as mammals evolved from our fishlike ancestors way way back. Initially the loop of the nerve would have been very small and insignificant but as mammals developed the journey became more and more significant but it was too late for a re-design (this is evolution after all.) The point is no-one would start out with this as a plan.

Even to pretend there is a serious debate between evolution and creationism is specious. Evolution is well-established and scientifically valid and well proven. No true scientist doubts its validity. The only people trying to question it are those with a religious agenda for whom trying to pretend there are scientific doubts somehow makes them feels better as they cannot reconcile the two. This is specious and immature.
