4.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, Very Revealing To The Nature Of Why Some Are Rich And Others Are Fiscally Challenged, 8 Mar. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Rich Dad Poor Dad (Paperback)
This book is a great great book, one of the best in terms of one's personal philosophy on money making. the main ingredient to this book that makes it a bang for me was the whole "cash flow quadrant" thing. as one begins to analyse this you will easily see what side you're on and how you need to go about transitioning to that side of the game. kiyosaki makes this sounds easy, but it isn't as easy as one may think.

There are allot of people out there who are convinced that they can not change their financial situation, that there is no way to make a difference in their lives. the cashflow quadrant will help in making it clear to you in why some people are rich and some are poor. it doesn't do a perfect job in explaining it, but you will begin to see the picture allot more clearer if you ask me.

i won't make this difficult, my verdict on this: this book is great, it would make a excellent gift for someone who aspires to be rich one day, it may turn some off. but you know what they say "every genius has it's critics," there is nothing out there that will please everyone there will always be someone who will call it garbage. i think that if you want to get started in changing your life and acquiring wealth that this is an excellent start. this book alone will not be enough to make you rich, but it will put you on the right path if you apply the principles. so if you're rookie in the business world, do yourself a favor and pick one up

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book, With Quite A Bit Of Filler, 8 Mar. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book is simple yet introduces us to some revolutionary ideas, such as paretos principle and parkinsosn law. these theories were not known to me, for the most part i was applying these principles in my life quite decently, but this book magnifies the concepts which makes focus on them a great deal more.

But that's the plus side, on the down side, i would say that many would agree that tim goes on to ramble about topics that not much would care for while reading it. for example he may talk about how you can store your cars while you're away, how to keep your place safe and so on. while i found this to be quite interesting and helpfull , i fear others will not enjoy it such a manner. but for me it was pretty great. but man, i really did enjoy this book. it changed the landscape of my thinking quite significantly, i definitely think this is a much needed book for work-aholics. you know, the people who are on the phone all the time, the people you never find time for anything. this book will most likely put a stop to that if they apply these concepts tim talks about. if you ask me, i think this should be on your shelf

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Solid Book But The Concepts Aren't That Powerfull, 8 Mar. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I'll try to keep this short and as robust as possible.

If you're new to Neuromarketing and it's concepts then you will find this book very helpful. very helpful indeed. As you make your way through the pages this book you get the strong sense that roger is a very well read man in this field, that he definitely knows a great deal about this stuff. so you feel confident to trust his intelligence on this matter. As you begin to read this you will find that you have many "wow, i didn't know that" moments. it's quite exhilarating. you really feel like you're getting some good stuff you'v never herd about before

now with that being said, i have to talk about the negative in this book. as you can tell by the title, he is explaining 100 ways you can market in the neuromarketing sense. and alot of these findings are not really fact, they are studies and observations and who's to say that these studies have any major value, the sample size of these studies may not be large enough. nevertheless it is interesting and i think it's something that we as business owners should check out. but i would say most of these little trinkets are nothing truly robust, instead they are just little ideas that may "tip the scale" in your favour. all in all i think everyone should give this a read, you may just be missing out. and if you never learnt anything about neuromarketing then you are most assuredly missing out

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book, 8 Mar. 2012

This is one solid book, if you're just getting started with getting your brand up and running. Simon has wrote this in a "very easy" to read way. The information is solid and lets you think about things in a different perspective, for example alot of people may think of a brand just being about the logo, but by reading this you will soon come to find out that this is very not the case at all.

There is one fault with this book for me though, it is not very specific to all types of businesses, such as internet businesses. the book is more directed at business owners with an actual store front(S) in locations in the world, but it is up to you as the reader to be creative and apply what he says to your internet business in creative ways. all in all, this is a solid book. i'm very glad i picked it up

Instant Systems: Foolproof Strategies That Let Your Business Run Itself (Instant Success Series)

2.0 out of 5 stars Very Vague, Repetitive and lack focus, 20 Jan. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
this book is ok at first. you start of reading the first 10 pages or so learning about all this stuff to make your business instant. but then you begin to see how vague he is in his writing. he often speaks assumes that the reader knows what he is talking about. for example he may say " have a paperless system" but doesn't go into much detail at all.

also once in a while he may throw in random topics, that totally come out of no where. he is also very repetitive, he will say the same thing over in different words 3 to 4 times. all in all this is a poor book, and mr sugars needs to take some time to develop his writing skill, because this book lacks structure. i would say the 4 hour work week is worth a read, it is about 13 times better than this book. do yourself a favour and acquire that instead.

Dropshipping Demystified
Dropshipping Demystified

1.0 out of 5 stars Too simple, 6 Jan. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The book is seriously lacking, it doesn't have very much information about dropshipping itself. it touches on topics that you would not expect from a book that's suppose to be all about dropshipping. Alot of the information in here can be found the internet if you just do a little research yourself.

Prestige: this book has no information that i couldn't find in a generic article on the web about dropshipping. although the price is relatively small, i would suggest to look elsewhere for a decent product on dropshipping

The Intelligent Portfolio: Practical Wisdom on Personal Investing from Financial Engines
The Intelligent Portfolio: Practical Wisdom on Personal Investing from Financial Engines
by Christopher L. Jones

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Ambitious Enough, but i didt learn alot of new things, 16 Oct. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
if you're looking for an investment book to contribute to your efforts to making the big bucks, this book is not for you. it is very much on the conservative side, this is more like a book for someone with some cash looking to invest their money as safely as possible to make steady and slow returns

Christopher seems to be a well eduucated man, but he seems to lack the ability to simplify his explanations. i often found myself reading over 1 paragraph 4-5 times to get what he was saying.

as i read the foreword, he made it clear why he was writing this book and who it was for. it was for a various group of people, including rookie investors, people who knew nothing of investing. and i must say i don't recomend this to any newbie investors. you will find your self struggling to grasp chris's explanations.which they were no need for

christopher would take an entire paragraph to explain the most simple concepts. such as correlations and so forth.nevertheless I did take my time to read his book and i did get everything.

Now on the good side, while Chris may have the inability to simplify explanations, I did learn many new things I have never herd of. many techniques institutional investors use. so i thank him for that

3.0 out of 5 stars No one buys most of these myths anymore, so they weren't worth writing about, 16 Oct. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As One other reviewer stated, it is a bit americanised. if you're a seasoned investor, there won't be much for you in this book. while they were a few things that shocked me, alot of these things were common sense that most investors already know. things like the idea that investing in emerging markets is not so risky if you do it right. nothing i haven't herd over and over.

3 out of 5 for me

3.0 out of 5 stars A little Overpriced., 5 Mar. 2011
Rosalind's book is a bit overpriced in my opinion, that is if you have a little experience in the affiliate field. if your someone who has a little experience, im afraid you won't gain much from this book. and in that respect i deem it overpriced. it had a few things here and there i was able to scrape from it to take on board, but overall it was very generic material I've herd countless times.in a nutshell i would say the book basically covers

What an affiliate is
What to look for in an affiliate network
the do's and don'ts of being an affiliate
basic web design
basic Search engine optimization

i just didn't get that extra boost of knowledge i was hoping for

as soon as i got this, i installed the disk it came with, took no more than 15 minutes. i bought this because my old one wouldnt give me a proper connection on my fiber optic. i have 10 Mbps, my previous adapter was giving me only 2-3 of that . sometimes 7 on a good day. but with this. i get the full blast of my fiber optic experience. and now i enjoy browsing at high speed
