2.0 out of 5 stars Dubious as to whether they're 'genuine'., 7 Jun. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Described as genuine and original replacement yet the Blackberry font is different to the battery supplied with my Curve 9300, the hologram on the rear of the battery is barely reflective and the battery had to be pushed into the phone (whereas the original slots in with no effort).

I haven't tested performance yet but can confirm the battery works and charges.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breathtaking imagery and well informed, 23 April 2008
Page by page this book is an example of how dramatic weather can be. The professionalism and dedication of the photographers is seen throughout, and the brief explanations of events never takes away from the photos themselves. The authors let the pictures do the talking, never sacrificing page space for long winded descriptions of events. The final section, where they talk about the technical side of storm chasing and forecasting, is a welcome inclusion and helps you appreciate the time and effort that goes into the work.

Another great release from the Souls.
Easily combining fast paced punk with a melodic side.
I love this band, simple as that!
Read my review on Hopeless Romantic to see why!

Bouncing Souls are great. There, i've said it straight away, there's no point beating around the bush, i love their anthemic chants, fast paced beats and catchy lyrics. i love their attitude and style.
I love the fact, that again and again BS produce albums of such high quality.
The punk scene seems to have a lot of bands that produce an album with 3 or 4 stand out songs and a lot of filler. Not The Bouncing Souls.
Go get some.

4.0 out of 5 stars UK Punk Heroes stand up and be counted!, 27 Feb. 2005
This review is from: Whats Next (Audio CD)
Taking a lot from their Leftover Crack influences, The Filaments manage to combine a hard edge punk sound, but with the catchiness of a horn section.
The usual political rants are here, as well as tributes to the punk scene.
Their vocals are gruff enough that they demand attention, but fail to become repetitive, with their style switching between punk, ska and hardcore with consumate ease.
The UK punk scene has been in need of a forerunner in recent years, lacking a Rancid or LoC.
Perhaps we have a hope...

4.0 out of 5 stars Early promise...., 23 Sept. 2004

This review is from: Unravelling (Audio CD)
A little rawer, a little quicker. That's the general theme of Unravelling after listening to Revolutions Per Minute.
So what do you get? Quick, catchy, well written punk songs. The screamy isn't too screamy and the melodic vocals are heart-string tugging and caressing all the same.

4.0 out of 5 stars The harder side of Rancid., 30 Nov. 2003
More old school, more throaty, more "punch you face" attitude. Thats what this is.
As an album it's not as good as any of the Rancid records, but then I feel Rancid is greater than the sum of its parts, so for Lars alone to outperform his bandmates would take a Herculean effort.
Stand out tracks include Dead American, Campbell CA and Wine&Roses.
If you're a fan of Rancid check this out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eye-opening., 30 Nov. 2003
Like so many, I have always said I'd read Brief History. So i bit the bullet and delved in...
Now I'm not a mathematician, or a physisist. Not since GSCE's have i pondered over the equations that were set down over the last few hundred years. Luckily Stephen Hawking knew this when he wrote A Brief History of Time. In fact that was his driving force.
It proved to be, from the start, an enjoyable read. Doesn't really say much does it? "An enjoyable read", sort of reaction you'd have to a Spot the Dog book. Well that's how it starts. But I got through that to discover mind blowing theories and genuine enjoyment in reading Hawkings.
Yes there are a lot of things to get your head round, things that are complicated and at times uncomprehensible. But this is said in terms of altering your view on our world and universe, not in terms of being far too complicated and above us.
It's not for everyone, but if it's for you its an enthralling read. Not one to be left on the coffee table.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb storytelling., 30 Nov. 2003
Unfortunately this is the only book of The Raven I have read, so my understanding of the characters, world and previous storylines was as limited as can be!
But that didn't stop thoroughly enjoying one of the best fantasy books I have ever read!
The characters are strong, and unlike many fantasy novels, are not too complicated that they require a week of backgound reading to get into and understand. This is not to say that Barclays characters are weak. Far from it, within a couple of chapters you already feel you know the character.
The character development is superb, as is the storyline, with a genuine feeling of uncertainty concerning the fate of the group.
A gripping and entertaining story. Time to get those other books then...

5.0 out of 5 stars Woooah there!, 30 Nov. 2003
This review is from: Revolutions Per Minute (Audio CD)
It's not original, it's not ground breaking, it's not anything I didn't expect except.... it's amazing!!
Those vocals, those guitars, those lyrics! Without doubt one of the best albums of the year (like the other reviewer said, not as good as Strike Anywhere)
What so many new bands lack today, and what RA has with enough to spare, is song writing capabilities. In a music scene with more hooks than a North Sea fishing boat, you need something else to snare people. And here we have the lyrics. From the heart? check Meaningfull? check Intelligent? check. We have political rants, breakup songs (and we're not talking the childish screams of Billy Talent and All American Rejects folks), and just good songs.
Buy this. The Yanks did and now RA are on their way to major label stardom. Expect big big things soon.
